Came accross this Camel spider while walking in the Drakensberg

Horrible looking thing, I cant stand spiders, left him well enough alone in case his bigger brother was nearby.

If spiders did start becoming larger and larger I think we'd be done for, they're pretty damn hardcore.

Saw a program on Nat Geographic or similar about the time of giant arachnids and absolutely massive scorpions, imagine being transported back to that time, we'd be toast!!

I would die. Painfully, slowly.. and probably involving a LARGE sofa shoved up my **** if I scared my wife with that.

Once she'd calmed down enough to let go of the ceiling, my life would be forfeit.

I shudder to think of the 'look' I would get.

My mrs and I both really like spiders, I find them fascinating creatures. We spent a week in a place called Gamblesby in the Lake District about 2 years ago, we stayed in a converted barn and shared it with some of the largest 8 legged critters we had ever seen.

We would normally use a glass and some paper or card to put them out, a pint glass wouldn't have fitted across the diameter of these big fellas.
