This seller is royally taking the **** and an email will be shortly going admin to investigate the account

Copy of my PM that I cannot send as user has a full PM box
I have been reasonable so far but now he is just taking the proverbial

Well since you have not replied to my last PM, I have to assume that you either do not want to resolve this or am hoping that I will forget the whole thing. Unfortunately for you, no and later on I will be emailing over some pictures of the diff you supplied that clearly shows it to be a 3.9 version and therefore not what we asked for. Also there will be pictures of the rear drive shafts showing you that they would be useless to sell on as that was your other idea.

I will be interested to see your reply

Oh dont worry, we have the address and telephone number as my girlfriend went up to collect the goods, which unfortunately were wrong (not all of them mind you) and I am just getting a bit hacked off that the seller is refusing to enter into a discussion as how I can be refunded for the mis-sold parts

Thanks for the info though

Right.

I am sad that it has come to this but as the seller BrumSubz is refusing to answer any of my PM's and is unwilling to resolve our problem, then I have no other option but to post it on the open forum for all to see.

It is shame that he (and his mate that he is selling on behalf of) will not see that parts sold WRONGLY do constitute a wrong sale and as such should be refunded.

My girlfriend needed some parts for her 95 WRX, which included a clutch and gearbox. The gearbox we sourced from a very helpful guy whilst the clutch and rear diff were sourced from Brumsubz. A piece of paper with the gearbox code was sent up with my girlfriend so she could match it with the rear diff to make sure she got the right one. In this instance as it was an Sti gearbox she needed a 4.44 rear diff for it to match.

A prop shaft, front and rear drive shafts were also being purchased from this seller.

When she turned up the guys were still breaking it and would not allow her to come into the workshop to check the codes matched. Instead she was asked to sit in her car and wait whilst they brought the stuff out to her. In the end they loaded up her car with various bits and pieces promising that it was all above board.

When we got the parts down I stored them in my garage until our mechanic could do work on the car (3 weeks it took unfortunately)
When he did get it all fitted, he immediately found out that the following problems

1. Rear diff wrong and so the whole assembly was shaking its self to bits
2. rear drive shafts and hubs ****ed and no use to anyone

So whilst the clutch and prop shaft were fine, the rear drive shafts were useless and could not even be sold on (as suggested by the seller ) and he refused to admit that the rear diff was wrong.

There has been an exchange of PM's but he refuses to refund the cost of the rear diff and the drive shafts, even though the former is wrong and the latter are broken.

So an email has been sent to the admin team to investigate the seller and any associated accounts and I am posting up pictures below for anyone to see just what this guy is passing on.

rear drive shaft

Rear hub showing damage

Rear diff showing a 3.91 NOT a 4.44

Forgot to add that the seller and his merry band of dodgy ****ers said the car was stripped and the parts ready, wen in fact they hadnt and my girlfriend had to sit there for hours whilst they ripped the car apart, hence why the parts were damaged in their rush to get them out

The whole thing was a nightmare from start to finish and I was on the phone daily to this seller trying to make sure things went swiftly. The night before the collection date I was told that everything was being removed there and then and would be out in time for collection.

My sister arrived at the prearranged time to collect the parts and then she was left hanging around before they told her the gearbox was damaged. I told her to check the gearbox code against the paperwork/diagram I'd given her before parting with any cash for the other parts because it would have been pointless but they refused to show her the gearbox and told her the code matched She was there sat outside for at least 4 hours and almost everything is no use

If only I'd known that she hadn't see the gearbox I would have told her to leave with nothing and now she is £200-250 lighter for the scrap parts you see above

My initial thought was that your dealings with our 'innit ' friend here were smooth, but after the recent PM from you, it seems not

So yet again we have another set of our friendly rip off merchants from brum land doing what they do best Not exactly a great ambassador for that part of the country is it .

The list is growing of disgruntled buyers and this will not go away, so I suggest the seller step up to the plate and start answering people's calls

Normally I class PM's as just that, Private. However under these circumstances I dont care any longer.

My first message to him

SUBARU IMPREZA WRX STI V3 BREAKING FOR SPARES
Hi there
My name is Chris and I am the other half of *** who came to buy various parts off you (or your mate who was breaking the STiV3). She was put in touch with you by her brother Paul Palmer.

You sold her the following items which apparently came from the above car

Propshaft
Front drive shafts
Rear drive shafts (these were still attached to the rear hubs as you could not get them off )
Clutch
And the Rear Diff which was meant to be from a STiV3. ( 4.44)

Now we just had these items fitted this weekend by our mechanic and have been informed that the rear diff is in fact wrong !! The diff you sold my girlfriend is a 3.90 and so will not work. In addition when you took the rear drive shafts off one of them has been broken in the removal process, making it useless to us.
If you need me to send you a link for which diff should have ben supplied for the gearbox code, I can

I understand that my g/f gave you a piece of paper on which had the gearbox code so you could chck that the diff was suitable for her car.

The clutch , front drive shafts and propshaft are great..many thanks

Now I am quite happy to send these items back to you if you can arrange a suitable refund. Could you give me a shout back where I need to send these items so I can arrange delivery.

Many thanks for your help
regards

Chris

His reply

Hi there chris i have advertised the subaru sti version 3 for my mate Maz and really mate the parts were sold at knock bottom prices which means no money back refund??? Another thing is that you have had the parts for over 3 weeks if you were unsure about these you should have rang him on the number stated on the advert asap when you girlfriend took them home. The only thing that i can suggest is that you perhaps sell the bits on that you brought off my mate. I have sold mainly bits for my mate via here and ebay, so far no1 come back all the parts are gen and are as stated, This is not really my fault mate as all i done is just advertise the parts on here as i have mainly subarus in the past, if you look at my previous posts.., thanks
My reply to that

Hi there chris i have advertised the subaru sti version 3 for my mate Maz and really mate the parts were sold at knock bottom prices which means no money back refund???

Sorry but there is no such thing. If you sold them as seen then there are exceptions and these were not cheap. She paid £300 and that is not a bargain when the two important parts, the rear drive shafts and diff are wrong

Another thing is that you have had the parts for over 3 weeks if you were unsure about these you should have rang him on the number stated on the advert asap when you girlfriend took them home.

We didnt have chance to fit them beforehand as our mechanic was working on other projects

The only thing that i can suggest is that you perhaps sell the bits on that you brought off my mate.

Maybe the diff yes but nothing we can do with the broken parts

The main problem is when my girlfriend came up to see you she had a piece of paper with the gearbox code on so she could match it up with the diff to ensure she got the right one. I understand that she was not allowed to see the car and had to sit in her own car whilst you guys went and got the parts. She had to trust that the parts she got given were the correct ones . The diff was sold as wrong and as such we need to return it.
Is there no way we can sort this out amicably ?
I would hate for this to turn into a sour transaction

Many thanks

Chris[/QUOTE]

Since then, nothing even after repeated PM's (though his mailbox is now full)
So there you go, as you can see I have tried to be as reasonable as possible

Hmm I've just found out that maybe it wasn't an sti 3 he was breaking after all. I think the rear diff we were supplied was from an RA and I've heard that the engine from this car was from a WRX version 2 and not an sti 3

Was there a version 2 wrx RA made?

Time to drag this back up

Today I took the back cover off of the differential that was supplied by this guy as a 4.444 sti 3 rear diff and I found out that it's a UK classic rear differential and it has recently been apart to check it and the markings on the cover relate to 39 teeth on the crown wheel and the 11 on the pinion

This guy blatantly lied because there is no way that rear diff came from an sti version 3 like he said and he also confirmed the code on the gearbox was the sti 3 one I gave him He has refused to take the differential back and give us a refund so I am left with a differential that is no use to me and I have to try and sell it on

Avoid this seller at all costs
