Great results for the boost level Steve. Well done!

As expected, your bigger turbo has given you better power at the top end.

It would be interesting to see your graph overlayed with mine, when I get it back to ZEN for the last comparison run within the next few weeks. All for the information of comparing turbos, as base engines are now quite similar.

Enjoy!

As it happens shaun I can virtually help you out on what steven and paul compared mine with duncans graph.

For comparison, bearing in mind the size of the turbo, it matches Duncan's
run from the dyno day, line for line until roughly 4000 where you start to
beat him, only when your boost starts to drop does he come back past you. I
believe Duncan is running 2.4bar midrange and 2.2 bar to redline, with E85
mix.

Paul recons there is a bucket load to come from it with bigger injectors, as
your peak power is only just behind Duncans, but at that point you are
running 0.6 bar less boost than him!!!! He is running the MD321V

Fantastic results Steve, finally where you want to be after so long

Bodes well for my build. I presume you're on a GT3540R with 82 housing?

Looks like I'm going to have to send my Nismo 740's off to Mark to have him work his magic on them.

We left Zen at 2am.

I can't quite remember Duncan's boost but it was 2.1 bar at peak power I believe, and in the end we were sustaining that broad peak power with just 1.6bar. I suspect we may push about 600hp with the injectors done, but you can't tell as you can hit the limit very suddenly.

It's the first GT35 i've mapped on AVCS heads with cams and other bits, it's going to be excellent to drive, it offers marginally more lag than a MD321T+ on a non AVCS 2.5 but makes a shedload more power and torque.

Early on it also made 450hp at 1.25bar but with the tweaks that brought the power up at the 1.6/1.75 bar level, I would hope to hit more like 470hp.

Back to work later to tinker with another great car!

A GT35 would certainly be an option on my engine, but I have had enough of modifying now. The cost vs return is starting to get less and less. As a track car your extra power would be cool (so it may be tempting for me), but I personally do not want to lose the immense low down grunt I now have. It took me long enough to get that lowdown response, I can't bear the thought of losing it.

Best of luck and I hope it delivers everything you hoped for.

Great results indeed and really gives me something to look forward to.

Steve are you sure its not a 044 pump instead of the 404?

So i see you are peaking at 2.1bar but tailing off at the top end...i hope you are going to sort that out

What fuel was you running?

Peter,

I meant that Duncan's very similar results were at about 2.1bar at peak power (higher in the midrange). Steves car was running about 2.15-2.2 in the midrange, and I deliberately lowered the boost to 1.6 at high RPM so the car didn't run too lean. With 2.0 bar at the top end it will see over 570hp, perhaps as much as 600hp. It's running V-power with 10% methanol.

What injectors is he going to need to help to acheive more potential?

Is there a difference between a GT35/40R and a GT35R or are they the one and same?

Steve,
You SHOULD be running a lot more power than me with a rotated GT35 you pleb! Especially using meth! But since you are doing things for "fun", why don't you have it mapped for pure VPower and see what it makes. 10% meth must be worth 10% additional power.

You seemed to miss the post a month back when my poxy standard position GT30 did 500bhp at the hubs on 20% BIO. That was at 1.8bar boost flat. Care to think what 500bhp HUB equates to at the fly?

As regards to spool / lag you best look at MY graph and not Duncan's. You will find things are far from similar in the spool department. You make 290lbft at 3500.... I make 480lbft at 3500.

You car is making very good power and shows a lot of potential...... just a shame about the flat spot up to 4.5k.

Anyhow..... who sends their car for mapping with a fuel supply off a skate board.

I read somehwhere that after Mark's treatment 740's will flow circa 1100cc.

Is this correct? If so Will Modified 740's suffice?

I was speaking to mark and he can modify injectors to flow at 1000cc at 4bar fuel pressure. Paul seems to have found somewhere that may be of use to me and maybe madhammer fingers crossed as finding descent 1000cc injectors seems to be hard. RC engineering or Ultimate racing, both look simialr and need a resistor box and don't really look like they will work that well
