I'm in two minds now whether to ditch the Bio idea and go for a 25 shot and run it on VP Import at 130 oct'.

Not sure if the h/gaskets will put up with it though.
Will check with Olly & Matt

Run BIO, its a hell of a lot cheaper, and the gains of VP IMport over bio arent worth the extra cost and thats from the words of someone who sat their engine on their engine dyno and compared the two like for like.

£9+ per litre

Or

£1 per litre

You decide

Nice one PS, I'll go for the Bio.

Are there many suppliers. Never seen it in Sainsburys

Probably get my moneys worth having a bunded tank in the middle of the lawn and ordering 3000 Ltr's at a time ?? (discount)

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR @ York being my nearest.
Doncaster has a Morrisons, a big one too but no E85. I enmailed them about it and they have no plans to sell it there in the near future either

I think you end up using 50% more fuel running on E85 Bio. This would mean I will get roughly 100 miles per tank as P1 only has a 40 Ltr tank.

I currently get around 200 - 220 per tank on V Power and half a bottle of NF.

When driving Harry Flatters that becomes 3 Ltrs per minute, so on that figure I will be using around 6 Ltr a minute when flat out on Bio.

Just trying to weigh things up before I make the decision

LOL @ Luton up north.

Warrington Granted but Luton. Your geography is worse than my particle physics.

No wonder you're so slow on the strip, you get lost half way up!!!! PMSL

Cant really say Clive, as we have not run the current setup on anything else. I was basing my comments on what Simon Norris said about VPImport and E85. I think at 900bhp, the VP made 20bhp difference at best on his evo engine. So not worth the extra cost.

E85 does offer huge gains over VPower though, iirc its octane rating is something like 109, combined with the cooling properties it also has.

It does drink more of it though, a bit like VPImport.

may be worth getting a removable tank for the works van/pickup, and filling that up at morrisons.

Clive, ring Paul at Zen, he has the most experience i would say of the difference in consumption levels of e85 over Vpower on a Subaru. To be fair, he has probably already talked about it with Matt at some point.

I would imagine so too Steve, well actually I know so.

They have mutual respect for each other RCM & Zen.

Running at 900Bhp I would imagine the only way forward regarding fuel is

Can't remember if you have a race tank or not (and can't be bothered to look back through all 6 m pages...) but standard p1 tank is bigger than that - 60litres. mine is and 220 mptank is about the same as I get on vpower/NF

Yeah, I always thought the UK tank was 60 litres... and JDM ones 50 litres. I read it in Chris Rees's 'You and Your Impreza' book lol:-

You all seemed to overlook a question I asked a few pages back, or maybe no one knew the answer ?

I have a toggle switch for the Anti Lag & that will stay on for 8 seconds before the Motec shuts it off.
It shuts off as Matt & Dave L were recording very high levels of heat at the turbo while mapping.

Now, If I launched with the LC on (which I assume will automatically activate the AL for 8 seconds), then for the laggy stage in say 3rd gear I manually switched on the AL, would the Motec still be reading the turbo is too hot, or will the AL over ride it and activate ??

And

If Bio generates less heat than V Power, would that mean the AL duration could be increased ??

Hi Clive,my launch control stays on until the car moves ,there is no time limit,i leave mine on for around 5 seconds till the boost comes up,dont want to leave it on much longer as there is a build up off heat.

Dont bother with the anti lag in 3rd ,dont think it will work ,main reason for anti lag is to keep turbo spinning at low revs.

Hi Marty. Thanks for that. Did you have AL before LC was fitted any if so did Matt set a timer on your AL ?

Some guy in here asking about your wheels mate. Couple of pages back just after the photos of yours & mine at The Pod .

PS. On my previous attempts on the strip I will need ALag in 2nd, 3rd & 4th .

Thought I would get that in before England does

Just found a pic of the ol' P1 before I needed the lamp covers.

This was when I had a normal Inter Cooler. Looks a bit different now !

Usually both AL and LC have a time limit on them, as if left on for too long, they will cause issues.

From memory when i had my M800, LC was simply stage, boot it whilst stationery, either wait for boost to go up or go on the green. You would be better using flat shifting on the strip imo over AL.
