If you go to ExhaustsUK (Sheffield based) speak to Matt or the Boss (owner) - and tell him Jag (wr1) sent you....make sure you get a discount!!

some cars over boost.. .some don't... seems to depend from car to car..

the safe option is to get it checked or remapped.. many driving about now without doing either.. they could be safe or maybe not.

Got a Cobra on mine, good fit no probs at all - the only niggle is that its not as loud as I want, maybe due to not being decated!?!?

full decat makes a massive difference imho.

Certainly be my next step then I may go back to using a prodrive exhaust to quiet it down a bit.

Default 'Cobra' Exhausts: Why Not?

A picture is worth one thousand words:

Never mind the fact that without a mandrel bender they cant actually make anything, or that the place is full of basball cap wearing MaxShower reading charvers: nor that the arrogant ginger youth who proclaims to 'run it' knows nothing about Imprezas, whilst kidding himself that he knows it all.

2 things

1 You had a bad experience with them - so far no one else who has posted has so really I think it's fair to say (on the evidence in this thread at least) that you experience doesn't reflect the majority

2 Every time I see you mention them you mentioned the mandrel bender and the fact they can't make anything. Even if this is true someone is therefore making them and exhausts UK are still not putting as much margin on it as some of the rip off merchants out there.

(and by the way it's not me that's infracted you just because I don't agree with you!)

1] No mandrel bender. I was told this, by the company, on their premises.

2] MaxPower & baseball caps. On the number of occasions that I have visited, the reception has been populated by these people, whilst their cars have been worked on. The people and the cars were of the sort derided with enthusiasm here. The car in the picture is typical.

3] Whether he is ginger doesnt matter, but he was unbelievably arrogant, whilst arguing that my Classic JDM definately had two catalytic converters and he "knew more than I did". He was wrong and he didnt.

4] The car in the picture is typical of their usual fayre and it represents their usual customer base too. ExhaustsUK.com is their company name, youll see the sticker on the vehicles rear mumber.

I always say the same thing whenever this company is mentioned because I believe that they should be avoided. I have the advantage of having visited their premises and dealt with them.

So I presume the Cobra system is an alias of their product range then Simon, same as Ninja and Afterburner systems are that of ScoobyWorld (but made ready to fit by Haywood & Scott)

Think that makes sense.

I presume so. Where the stuff is made though, I dont know.

In desperation I called them this Summer when I was struggling to get a combined downpipe and centre fabricated for my track car. I couldnt get a straight answer about the mandrel bender when I asked, although they did ask to see the car to give me a quote.

You might wonder why I bothered in the first place? Well; theyre a completely different firm now (with a very different customer base too), but their roots are in a company who were based on Corporation Street in Sheffield. They used to make bespoke manifolds and exhausts for classics and exotics and they had a very good reputation. The site has been over-run by the new ring road and I was under the impression that they had simply moved. When I tracked them down I realised that they had a few staff members in common, but nothing else.
