Hill Climb and Sprint RA Project thread eventually
Arch- great thread, and if i had a little more money, would grab that lsd you have for sale, but this coming year for me the money is going on tyres- are you on slicks or still using list 1b?

Arch would have to confirm that, though.
Andy yes Micky is spot on they are Murray clamps Alyn at AS Performance stocks them. They are much better than Mikalor clamps as they have a much more even clamping force.

Any idea on how much the work to convert it cost? PM me if you'd prefer.
To be st the phase 1.5 is a little harder to do. The phase 1 manifold is a far better manifold and will work with your heads but the fuel rails are different from phase 1 to phase 1.5. There is some info on my attempts to fit a rotated pahse 1.5 manifold by just turning it in an earlier part fo the thread. In the end I gave up and went back to phase 1.
I dont know about cost as i only borrowed it. i know it was sold recently though.

I was under the impression that phase 1.5 manifolds fit Ph 1 heads.
I was also under the impression that to rotate all I had to do was literally rotate the manifold, but, I accept that would be a total ball ache, if it worked at all.
It's only an idea I'm toying with, as I think it looks good, thanks for the reply.

I did say that the heads would fit with the manifold.
The problem you have if you just rotate the phase 1.5 manifold is the ICV causes clearance issues. If you look back in the thread there is info there on this.

Arch- can I ask do you not have an additional tensioner on the alternator? It looks like you have just run a longer belt?
Mine is phase 1.5 too- will look at the earlier part of the thread to get an idea re the rotated idea, as keen to try this- its all a lag battle and every little bit helps! It also looks pretty, and that appeals too!

Well lots going on at the minute. The car is fully stripped, subframes off and being fettled, hopefully have one of Steven Darley's tubular gearbox cradles in the near future which will solid mount the gearbox to the chassis.
Work will be starting on the custom Syvecs ECU loom and MOT spec car loom. Both will be stand alone.
Biggest job is the next on the list, that is to add additional support to the 6 point cage to stiffen the chassis. Looking at adding support bars in accordance with the blue book to create as close to this as possible.

Also working on a new rear diff mount.
So lots going on Jan and Feb will be a busy months.

You in mod prod now? I'm looking at list 1b tyres for production class, and finally made my mind up as 888's in soft unlikely to be available at the start of the season, but super soft kumhos are. I'm going to try ebc blues for pads, given the excellent reviews from cold.
I'm sure you know this, but this year you will also need one o he more expensive multi layer suits as 2011 was the last year for singles.
Re manifolds, mine is a 1.5 and read an old thread by mark from lateral on here suggesting that they were the easiest to rotate, bar tweaking the icv location, but have also read your views. There is also more than one mans version of tweaking.

Its easy to rotate a phase 1.5 you just turn it round lol. If you are then trying to get a charge pipe under it you will need spacers, if you space it up IT WILL hit the bonnet causing clearance issues, I have done it and tried everything to get it to fit and it wouldnt. If you dont need to go under the manifold then dont use spacers and your sorted.
Never tried the EBC pads I have stuck pretty much with Performance Friction pads.
