I saw a couple of guys boarding in Stanford-le-hope on my way home from work yetserday.
Not sure what make kites they were, but one of them was huge, must have been 8 or 9m at least! It really curved round like the "C" shape kites. He was doing a few jumps and spins too!
This particular field seems to attract a few kiters, I regularly see the kites in the air from the main road. It's not that big though.
The place I went to fly yesterday is just down the road/opposite the kiting shop, "Sports corner" and I have heard the guy who runs the shop uses the same field to demo his stuff, he is apparently really good and is a qualified instructor!. Its huge and flat (albeit with a few goal posts) but there is plenty of room.
Only negative is its used for local football clubs on Sunday mornings and is close to a leisure centre/swimming pool with a skate park and playground area so it can attract quite a few kids. But this also means the grass is kept short!
I ended up with about 8 of the little ******* all round me yesterday asking about a million questions. All harmless and mostly interested in the kite, with phrases like "WOW, that's sick man!"
and were all quite polite actually, which is nice to see in this day and age.
They all wandered off after a while with a friendly "see you mate", and "have a good day mister"

Well I'm busy all day Sunday, but I haven't applied for my insurance so Barleylands is out for me anyway.
Light rain forecast for Saturday with 17mph winds.
Sunny with 22mph - 33mph winds for Sunday.
Looks like I will be taking my kites and board with me to Aylesbury Sunday!

Quite a big free carpark. Probably best to turn left as you enter the carpark and park on that side. Then we can walk along the back of the swimming pool and on to the fields along the path you can see running down the middle of the fields.
By the way, where you can see the "A1013" block in the bottom left hand corner of the aerial photo by the "Virtual Earth" logo, that's where the kite shop, "Sports Corner" is located.
