RINGER SCOOBY ON EBAY
right people i have phoned vosa place and they said to me the car has been checked on the date and was fine , i told them that someone notified me on this froum about the car being a ringer, she said if it was the car would be notified to the police, i then phoned dvla and they said the car is fine as the car was vic checked no problem there, and then went to the west yorkshire police station they said they have had no reports on the car whatsoever, they told me to phone dvla and vosa i said i have already done that , then she said then there isnt a problem. so i think the op needs to give me an apology as it has really wound me up, as well as the public, im in a hurry right now and will post all details tonight, with vosa number, police station name e.t.c. i would strongly suggest that the op gets in contact with them if he is not satisfied come down and view the car..thanks
We have to agree to disagree in this case then, because the seller has come forward and is getting the car checked out himself, he is proving to be a VERY honest and genuine seller.
The fact he is attempting to find out shows what a decent guy he is (and must have reservations himself).
Whatever the outcome I cant see a problem buying from them given the interest in getting to the bottom of this 'little mix up'.

Yes, that seems to be the case in this instance. I agree with you though that the seller has obvious concerns over what is beginning to amount to be false accusations and has had to go to great lengths to try and prove something he has had no need to do.
I hope you can understand where i'm coming from in terms of "mud sticks" though. People will forget about the "truth" and only remember the scantest of details which can harm someones reputation.
At the very least, the OP should have the courtesy to come back on here and back up his side of the story or apologise for the misunderstanding.
if its a cat c then as far as the vic inspector is aware the car could be stolen or a ringer this is why it has its vic check done.the main reason is to satisfy himself that the car is the real one and repairs to the damaged areas have been repaired.if it has its vic certificate and is marked on the log book then there is no problem and this guy is getting **** for no reason at all.i drive a cat c and regularly repair cat c so do have some insight to whats involved.and to me this guy and the effort he has gone to to prove to anybody who is interested is way above board.
here are the details i purchased the car on the 16th august 2008 from a person in manchester if you want his details i can provide them aswell if necesary, he said he had bought the car from down london area, the guy he had bought it off said the parts got stolen off it , and then had them replaced, i looked at th ecar before buying i did ask him why the plates were messed with he said he hasnt got a clue so i said fair enough as the main chassis was perefect the one engraved on the body as it was the same on logbook,
after buying the car i got it insured for 2 weeks i still have the certificates to hand as proof, drove around init drives nice, looking at the bodywork i decided to have it sprayed up, the spoiler, wing, rear bumper, uprated to a turbo facelift bonnet, added a p1 splitter, and fog lamp covers, changed rear lights got rid of the pink wrx sticker on the back and had it touched and fully buffed allround, the interior was valeted until i was happy with the result,, the grey stuff on spoiler is actually fresh glue which was used to fix spoiler recently, washer lamp has been replaced after pics were taken,
iam not going to sell a dodgy car on my account which have worked hard for, i wouldnt buy one so why would i sell one....
now iam going to remove the car from ebay and get it checked over before putting it back on for peace of mind the op has already given me the headache of phoning around and running here and there..

Reading through this thread it solidifies the reason why I dont post very often.
A large percent of the S/N regulars belong over the garden fence, gasbagging like a gang of old women. Is this all you arseholes do, find a victim and systematically destroy them. This poor sod has been hung, drawn and quartered by your kangaroo court. Never mind an apology you should royally kiss his ****.
Thank god a couple of decent members have the common sense not to get mixed up in the witch hunt and back up Spares-for sale. As for the rest of you bitches ( Get a Life )
Regards Mark.

As usual people on forums repeat what they heard elsewhere, with little idea as to whether it is accurate. It amuses me to see the accepted SN-wisdom with regards to 'ringing', ABI loss categories, what can be repaired and, my favourite: 'stealing to order'.....
Ive given the above post a positive rating, although I expect that someone will see fit to infract the poster soon, having been accurately (though rudely) summed up: or perhaps just because they can?

Firstly, cheers to GC8 for the positive rating and it takes a bigger man to apologise, El Cat. I have been on here for approx 10 months and to be honest this is one of the best forums around. On saying that the powers that be should bring in some sort of restraints on the ever increasing trend of "Hit and Run" selling on here. It would be a shame for the for the trust to go from this large community.
