When people sell stuff on here, why can't they be HONEST?

Think I'll try and avoid the classifieds section from now. If I desperately need something then I'll only buy from those that are well known/respected on the forums. But yeah, we need a feedback system.

Most poeple here are honest. I've bought d/p, u/p etc.. no problems. If they have something for sale. Ask them for a phone number to discuss. They can lie on an email but they cannot lie on the phone! Then tell them that you want to pick the part up!

Just bought a set of wing mirrors off a member on here and was told they were in ''excellent condition.'' They turned up today and are average at best. Paint scraped off the corners, covered in DEEP scratches etc. I need the mirrors, so don't wanna send them back etc. Just don't understand why people think **** is in ''excellent condition?''
I'm sick of people lying to me.

When i buy stuff i ask for more info, i would ask is their marks skuffs is the paint mint. Then and only then i part with my redies.

bit harsh calling me a joker and a pri*k!!! you rang me up after reading my for sale thread, which you got my mob number from, i clearly stated that they needed refurbing in the ad AND when you rang me.thats why i was selling them so cheap. when you turned up at mine i gave you each shock to look at and you said you were happy, i sold them with no warrenty or come backs, so why should i have to re pay you for having them fitted?? and if the parts that im selling are so crap why do you still email me wanting 4 pot brakes and an sti interior??!

plus the coilovers werent in an ad, i bought the fogs off you and u sed u had some coilovers, they werent advertised,,, stop trying to cover ur back, if u told me they needed a refurb i wouldnt have touched them!! all u sed was they hav a bit of pitting but they work fine,,, so dont LIE
im sure ur ok and to be honest, u do sell some good stuff but i find it rude that u didnt clearly tell me they needed refurbing, otherwise i wud hav had them done before putting them on as thats what makes sense or most definitely would not have had them in the first place, it was later that i found out they needed refurbing through your previous thread SO to sum it up you wanted some money for sh*t lying around so u LIED

If you want something, just take the time and drive over to see what the real condition is if you are so worried.
Whenever i buy something from here i always ask if i can come and collect. If the person is genuine he will allow it and have no problems with it - but you will be surprised to see how many people just started to ignore me after i asked if i can come and pick the item up.
If on the other hand you went and bought something in person and afterwards you found out that its scratched in a place you didnt see - whos fault is this ?
Just be aware that bargains are bargains for a reason and be vigilant.

or people could take responsibility for their own actions and not expect the world to wipe their **** for them?

Cash on Delivery, use paypal, regular dialogue, meeting in person to exchange or sending a proxy who is more local etc etc
In an ideal world its nice to think that everyone is as honest as you are but this isnt an ideal world and there are steps that can be taken to protect the parties involved.

If there are repeat offenders then yes, something should be done, otherwise just be careful where you spend your cash.
