Good, it does make a difference, hence why I havent lost anything, I just eat more to compensate.

I have only done 2 days this week, Monday couldnt be arsed after a week off, cycled Tuesday, Wednesday, yesterday off because I was going to be out late at the Gomez gig and needed to get home quick and today it was lashing down and I have a substantial hangover and partial hearing loss. Was worth it, and at the risk of sounding like a Radio one post gig soundbite, they were fantastic.

Going to start cycling in the rain but I need some decent gear first, dont mind getting wet onthe way home but there is nowhere to dry anything and I am not putting on wet stuff at the end of the day.

It's not pleasant but you only notice it for the first minute and then you are probabaly wet again anyway (especially here in drought struck Scotland ...!!) or warmed up enough not to notice.....

I've got my nightvision jacket, overtrousers and overshoes. and boy am I dry even in a rain storm now

The overshoes keep your feet nice and toasty as well!

Couldnt be arsed isnt an excuse, its a fact, just didnt feel like it, back into it now, so weather allowing I will try and do every day next week, would get the weather gear but I have just been cleaned out by the kids uniform and shoes, plus six hundred quid for the school bus fares so cant spend at the moment.

Unless you are spending a stupid amount, then I'm afraid any waterproof will leave you pretty wet underneath when cycling any distance. If you have a fast wicking shirt on underneath it then it makes a difference but if the waterproof is directly touching your skin ie. sleeves, then it always end up drenched, even with a supposedly good breathable w/proof

....and what happens if your inner tube valve fails or the valve seat perishes

Mini pump, spare inner tube, self sticking patches and Schwalbe Marathon Plus or Specialised Armadillos are my puncture backup....
