Not only are the resources being wasted, but its causing us locals a problem.. I have to work regardless of a big ****ing spider and getting into work is near impossible.

It was an hour late waking up supposed to be 6pm was 7pm, the rain was falling the brollies where up.

Then the musicians played from their fork lift trucks, and it woke up.

It went for a walk, then just before the real show began, the baby decided he didnt like it, and threw a tantrum, so we came home.

I was impressed by the scale of the whole thing and the mechanics behind it, but I was dissapointed that it didnt run on its own legs, it was in fact pushed and carried along by a huge truck with a jib on it.

Maybe I expected too much.

What was the reason that Liverpool got to be given the title of City of Culture..whenever I'm driving up or down the M6 as soon as i get near to that place,my foot is down on that accelerator pedal more than anywhere else just to get away from it quicker...

I think anyone who is willing to insult a whole City has issues. I for one am more than happy you keep on going. We dont need your opinions here.

If you think i was being insulting then your coming a cross as being shallow minded.I was asking a civil question as to why Liverpool was awarded the title of,Capital of Culture. My comment about driving on the M6 i would not really see as being insulting. It's no different to someone saying i hate going into London, and cant wait until my foot is firmly on that accelerator pedal heading away from it up the M25,(That's if your not down to crawling pace)..Some people just like a city more than another city or town.I happen to think there are nicer city's than Liverpool,it don't mean i am being insulting.

I do say so (anywhere else being a figure of speech)perhaps if you was not getting so defensive and lighten up a little.Maybe you could tell me the reason why Liverpool is capital of culture,or am i too backward for that.I'm off to the gym, can't hang around here all day.

Why...? Hmmmm, let me see.

European Capital Of Culture 2008

Start here, and I shall post a new one everytime Im on.

Some of the reasons I like my home town have nothing to do with culture, but I havent got the time to express my opinions just now.

I find people who tar the whole city with " I hate the place, drive fast through it, watch your sterio...etc". Have no idea what the real Liverpool is all about, they usually have had a bad turn whilst visiting us, fair enough, **** happens everywhere..

Later Yoza....Liverpool born and bread.

Try driving down the Edge lane approach in a pick up, and arriving at the tunnels with your load still on board!!!. Had stuff lifted twice in the traffic, when I was a landscaper.!!!. Most of its boarded up now.

As for your stuff being lifted...well Im sorry but thats just amusing to me, what were you doing at the time cowering behind your locked doors, get out and do something.

what about the time you got electrocuted by someones gate sean? do you slag that place off? doubt it.

it bores me the way people slag liverpool off, the people that usually do it have never been there but always have a tale to tell about somone they know who had something nicked whilst there, total boll0cks if you ask me, manchester has a worse crime record. no-one slags that place off, jelousy is a terrible thing that liverpool people have had to put up with for years, if you dont like the city well good for you, plenty of people love it here and come back all the time.

im amazed no-one has put up the old harry enfield pics, you usually always do

**** me people do really need to lighten up in here. For the record i have traveled all over the UK like many other guys/gals on here.I'm not slagging off Liverpool in the way that you think i am,was just interested to know why it was voted Capital of Culture.my other comment was just a bit of light humor.I actually got a mate who was from Liverpool but moved out of there 10 years ago, said he would not go back there and is now living in Bristol.Liverpool is not my favorite city/town i have been too..People slag off the city which i live in,but i don't let it bother me..If you think your City is so great, then comments such as mine should not really bother you..why get all defensive, chill. Now if you had been watching the England match tonight then feel free to vent your frustration, because it really was a pile of sh1te again, despite the 2-0 win..

it amazes me that you could be on a radio station for example, and have a pnone in on a topic. You would get all types of people phone in and from all different cities, yet you will get someone phone in from Liverpool and cause confrontation..It's the same as they get so defensive about there great city on here, cant take a joke or a little humor.I'M done with this sh1te...

You are kidding right, Manchester is by far the scurge of the country

Ive always joked about Liverpool, but I do know it relatively well and almost being a local

Anyway last time I really ripped Liverpool, Yoza threatend to put pictures of me and my car all down the Queens Drive and then I spent the next 2 years working on the drive

yea Manchester is kinda bad too lol.I think everyone who lives in a city cannot say that there city is 100% perfect,i know mine is not.but i don't mind taking sh1te about it either, which is what alot of Liverpool seem to have a problem about..cant take criticism without throwing the dummy out the pram

Nail on head, Moneys. Curly perm, wheels nicked, doleys, "eh eh!" blah blah blah, Zzzzzzzz... When I see these comments I just think "christ on a bike, how do people post this same old crap? Do they think they're original and that maybe someone hasn't yet seen it?". Humour and wit are great, but it's bloody sad when it's regurgitated ad infinitum.

Liverpool's got it's downside like any large city. But imo it's got a lot going for it as well; the most impressive architecture outside London (the Anglican Cathedral, St Georges Hall, the Cunard & Liver Buildings, loads of Georgian terraces up near the cathedral, infact on any city centre street, just look up). It's got a real history to it (trade & shipping, Irish influx, slavery), and top class museums to find out more. And I think it's got a vibrancy and a 'happiness' to it, at least compared to London.
