Snap it up. Bloody hell, i'm pretty sure the shells are worth thousands now.
Edited to say - Didn't read the original post properly. If its got rear end damage it might not be such a good buy.

I had a similar experience,my mates dad had a car locked up in his garage for 15 years and said we could have it if we could get it out the garage.....went down and it was an MGB GT V8 roadster (not in the same league as an RS but) managed to get it going and sold it for 2 grand

I'm always amazed at these barn find posts, I'd love to find something myself. There's a thread on passionford where a guy went to see a trader friend and he had a genuine RS500 sitting in an open sided barn with the drivers window open and had been there like it for years! Just rotting away now. Apparantly the owner has a few quid and asked the people to store it in this barn for him, it was ex concourse too.. such a waste, he probably could have sorted it and sold it for £20k but instead it's rotting away, madness.

possibly a very good find, an old nieghbour ask me to help him move house, and in one of his sheds (farm) is a mk2 escort, flat front , arched, alloys(look like minilits),,and the engine has the plugs down the center of a massive head,,loads of gear on it ,,hit at the back(hard),,,,he asked me £1500 for it,,
has been in the shed for 25yrs since his son died,,,,,it has a blue strip up the door, but im not sure what it is
any ideas

it had more power than the two litre with the nose cone.
£1500 is pennies for one. Post a pic or two???

I know someone who rallies these things, has an RS1800 as well as an RS2000 and a Mexico - he'd probably snap his hand off for that price even if it's for spares.. I think he has a spare shell somewhere. Last count he had about 12 cars - mostly Escorts (The RS1800 he has is mint, nearly concourse .. and he rallies it! )
I reckon if you ebayed it (with a huge reserve) you'd soon see how much it was worth..
