Not raced yet. We built a 460 bhp car for a "classic" customer who subsequently went on to fit a 6 speed, but he didn't break his old box despite trying very hard! typical really, if he was relying on it, you could bet your a--e it wouldn't have lasted five minutes.

Is there any news on a ball bearing version of this setup yet?

Also how would it fare on a built 2.5?...

My turbo is going on a closed deck 2.1 - will be mapped in a few days time. I reckon the car is going to be bloody quick!

Yes have done for quite a while now. 2.1 cdb with 20g. Pulls 1.6 bar at 3100 rpm with 10% meth and like a train. Looking to up the stakes now i have been there and done that.

What power levels (bhp & torque) are you achieving at 3100 rpm and overall?

Not ever had it on the rollers but using 96% duty at 4 bar fuel pressure on 550cc injectors should point you in the right direction.

I would think circa 420bhp (ish) / 415lbs (ish) torque mark? Thought of going for bigger injectors / turbo?

already in the pipeline. injectors should be here soon and turbo will be later in the year. thinking 321t or t+

Nah the torque wouldn't be anywhere near that high on a 20g. More like 350-360lbsft.

Will be good to see your car out when it's complete Jag

What turbo will you be running?

Also Coulty take a look at the graph of the T38 that Martyn posted on page 2, that's with straight 97 ron, so with meth and V Power would be awesome!

Alan how much more torque would a 2.1 generate compaired to a 2.0, lets say for sake of arguing that everything is the same spec.

We haven't done a really accurate back to back, so I can't say for sure. We noticed improved spool, which I'd expect, given the extra stroke and swept volume, so it all depends what it is you are looking for and how you're looking for it! If the turbo gives more boost at lower rpm, that's a nett torque increase. I don't think it would be too far out to claim say 200/300 rpm of spool, and possibly as much as 20/30 ft lb without changing anything else.
It would certainly make a bigger turbo more useable.
In a previous life, I spent a lot of time converting Escort RS turbos to ZVH (Zetec bottom end and CVH head) and the capacity jump from 1.6 to 1.8 was like chalk and cheese.

Second in a Murt! sorry..
The rev limit is more determined by the heads than the management! hydraulic lifters will hold you back a bit, but I doubt you'll find it lacking anyway.

Say if you wanted a genuine 2.2, would it be possible to do this with an EJ20 block or is an EJ22 needed?

Well, you could do it with a linered EJ20 block, but I wouldn't rush off there personally.

We have two more like that out now, one featured in a forthcoming Japanese Performance, and one in Total Impreza.
