Ok
I have a sti 04 on standard 2 litre using sc46 and supporting mods I get 460 / 425
My question is;
What will a stroked or forged 2.1 add change etc
My engines running perfect and no problems etc all controlled by syvecs

Don't worry joz you can't spook me mate
What will be will be standard cars let go slightly modded let go
And vice versa .....
I was t saying it to be funny saying is their a point doing it or should I just use my engine keep going etc etc or is a 2.1 viable even though nothings wrong with what I've got
Mick

There is an old saying, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

IF you felt the urge to rebuild, there's little doubt that a 2.1 is better than a 2.0 in every way. You gain all the way, from better spool to more power all over. You don't end up "over square" like a 2.5 can as it will rev out the same as a 2.0 does. You gain off boost response as well, as any drive in one will testify. Relatively you can use a bigger turbo and get away with it, even a GT35 being more flexible than you thought it might be.
Best of all of course, you have the opportunity to have "Enginetuner 2.1 stroker" on your sig....

What would I be looking at for a check over of my existing build (not one of yours) as I possibly have a leaking valve stem seal (exhaust). So engine out, check bores etc. and refresh heads?

Usual Scooby problem of having to strip virtually everything!
I'd say £1400/1600 ish all in, depending on what exactly we are replacing.
EG ARP studs are re-useable, so it depends if you have them or not..

Usual thing, it all depends on spec choice.
Of course you'd need a block to kick off with, than add £2750 to get the short block built.
What exactly are you using the car for? that info helps right away.
