Who said anything about a daily driver ?? and in standard spec they are as reliable as any other car.As for a morgage i dont have one,The house is not mortgaged and of no use to me so will be sold and money invested,so if i buy a good one and as you say there is virtualy none left then its going to be worth even more isnt it?...Or i could go buy a nice new car and lose thousands as soon as i drive it of the fourcourt....Anyway this is not my thread and i just stated an oppinion on what im going to be doing.

I'd buy the mintest Escort Cosworth (Standard) I could find, for upto £20k, and spend the other £9k on a little Fiesta or a Focus as a daily driver.
Or up my budget a little and get a 996 C4S

I trust you'll be posting pictures of your £29,000 Sierra in the near future then? Nonsense.

Believe it or not I couldn't care less if people want to spend a shed load of money on a car whose performance can't be used 95% of the time. But suggestions like a 600bhp Skyline and a 25 yr old Sierra are just fecking stupid. And then you get other dumb ideas like supercharging an M3CSL (just brilliant for residuals) or a 996TT (that's going to be a real gem of a car at that price).
A better title for threads like this would be "what's the best way to **** £29k up the wall?".
And one last thing. I have 50p for charity that says this chap is going to miss the balance and chuckability of his MX5 and is going to find a heavy, high traction rocketship about as fun as a punch on the nose. What a wally.

I don't really follow you most of these kits are fairly stright forward intallation's the standard engine internals are also fine as long as you don't run silly boost. The kit can also be removed as easily as it was installed !!
This way if you wish the all important residual value is maintained.
I don't know if you're having a bad day but maybe you shouldn't be so quick to rubbish everybody's idea of there top "30 grand motor" it's horses for course's at the end of the day.
