The new Subaru rally car, not much difference in performance.
I agree, i dont think the new car is up to the job. It just doesnt seem to have the speed the older cars had, Liatti won the 1997 monte with the new car...Burns won the first rally Subaru entered the WRC2000, Solberg took 2nd in Greece due to other drivers misfortunes. It doesnt carry the same glory somehow... Trouble is Subaru pin everything on the next development.
the WRC2006 was useless due to Pirelli tyres, so 2007 ran BFGoodrich but that didnt work either, so then its down to the chassis.. So we all expected the hatchback to shine on its first outing.
I really hope they do manage to sort it out though its been so long since the last win... its hard to imagine Solberg destroying everyone on a gravel rally these days but he used to - often!
I think overall the result is ok in Germany, but i did hope the new car would bring better results on tarmac.
Maybe New Zealand will bring more fortune, maybe Atkinson could shine?

The car is light years off the pace yet again in New Zealand, Atkinson has done his seasonal roll but Petter`s car is running fine so far but the pace of the new Impreza wrc is not very good to put it kindly.
Here is a little snippit taken from WRC.com
"Throughout the morning's stages both Atkinson and Solberg lost time to the leaders in the slower and twisty sections. Despite reporting no specific problems, both drivers were left pondering an overall lack of pace."

It's a shame there's not more manufactures in the championship. Goback 8 or 9 years you had 5 or 6 top manufactures. At the moment there's 3 with Suzuki in it's first year. When ford went from the escort to the focus it took 7 years to win the championship ( and don't I know I've waited longer enough for it. I don't think there's the drivers any more. Don't get me wrong there all very good but there not Mcrea Sainz kankunnen Makkineen Aureial Burn's are they?
