Thanks John,

Understand about decreasing spring pressure and letting the bleed up the boost a tad,any ideas as to why the bleed makes the part throttle bettter then a tighter spring with small bleed, just curious really, probably one of those things that cant be explained but it just is like that.

Hey Ricco are you running 0.8bar after you fitted the Dawes?

I have a MY97 holding 1.0bar peaking at 1.1bar with Dawes and full de-cat. Looking to up the fuel-cut as well to get a little more.

The Dawes is an active pneumatic device and will use a target boost setting for any throttle position if it can be achieved. The bleed makes it partly passive so that boost on part throttle is more linear. With a bleed valve the pressure on the wastegate is fairly linear with compressor outlet pressure. With the Dawes it is zero until near to target and then linear over a short boost range. With the bleed hole that linear range is enlarged. So it becomes a hybrid MBC at 1/2 the cost and easier to setup.

If that means nothing, then the other way of putting it is, "It just does so go on yer sel big man "

Dougster, it's running 0.8bar Standard. I'm gonna fit the AFR next week when i go home to see the folks I'll fit the Dawes after that when I'm happy the AFR is working right

Wasn't sure what to raise the boost to though? I guess 1 - 1.1bar should be OK??

You get bored with the car in standard trim chris ?

My one's going great guns but I was thinking of putting the Dawes on over the top of the TEK to get the spool up a bit faster ?

Run it on Star's RR and it was a little lazy, but that might be the solenoid. that's why I want to take it out of the loop

Dawes on his Focus RS ? Would get rid of that torque limiter in 1st and 2nd gear, but wheelspin might be an issue.
