Billet Aluminum blow through maf for DENSO Element anyone
Right , I have been looking for a while to find the cheapest way for us to make these ,... and making them out of stainless tbh we couldn't match the prices which you can currently buy them for ... i am basing prices on 30 pieces because of the tooling we need even though I know there is only a handfull of ya's wanting them .....
Ally pieces would be around the £35 mark for the weld on pieces and £30 for the tube pieces .
Let me know what you think .... stainless is just so dam expensive

[QUOTE=frayz;8126509]Why would a weld on item be dearer than a tube'd bit chris?[/QUOTE
Because of the machining process to create the 3" rad and the machines we have
The tube pieces are much easier for us to take and wouldn't take as long

Hes a quick drawing on paint... dont laugh
Here the sizes are estimates but about what i think they should be. Also you can see that i placed the MAF boss nearer to the end of the flow so the incoming air has some pipe to fill before passing the MAF.
Im no air-flow engineer but from what ive seen this would be ideal.

Looks fine,
With the sample piece I have from stifreak I can get a sample knocked up for someone to test .
Not sure how quick I can do these as i'm very busy at the mo.... how quick do you guys need them ?

Another note...
Make sure the ends have good meaty lips on the ends. Remember these will be subject to boost and we dont want the boost hoses blowing off.
Personally im gonna weld mine but im guessing most guys will want to use silicone joiners.

any more news? This is exactly what im after to cure my part throttle surge. ( air revearsal over maf on lift off )
One thing im not clear on, would the maf element from a MY99 car fit to this adaptor? - or could you make a version that can take the my99 maf ?
cheers,

Do you have a FMIC and VTA DV by any chance.
Andrew...
05/06 20G + fmic + ive tried all sorts of different combinations of dump valves to cure it.. even running two ( one hot side and one cool side of fmic )
and none!..but in reality it really needs this blow through system to completely eradicate it. Only happens when coming off boost, 5th gear when slowly closing throttle.
Using a different maf wouldnt be a problem, just an extra cost i could have avoided if my maf fitted. I have a power fc self mapped so another maf can be adjusted for pretty easily.
looking forward to getting one. If it needs testing i have no problem doing some tests.. would need a denso maf too though.

MY99/00 MAF element in a blow through configuration is asking for trouble IMHO.
