A 1.9 looks great on the original rims, they are part of what makes the car what it is. These look so good when kept original, as soon as you mess with the looks you cheapen it.
It's not like a Scoob which needs all the help it can get, these look great out of the box.
IMHO of course, it's your baby.

in an ideal world where i had the monies to do so, i would do the following...
1.hid kit for headlights
2.lower front to match back (30-50mm)
3.spray grey trims over (faded)
4.respray bodywork original colour (again age and fading)
5.wheels refurbed white
6.nice short shifter and new gear linkages/bushes
7.refurbished interior seats
8.new straight through magnex/similar stainless exhaust
inc a repsray probably talking a few £££ there to get it to absolute mint showroom condition.

chocolate_o_brian, nice car. Stick either with the originals or Griffe replicas IMHO. Here is my old one (any excuse to post some pics up )
Otherwise nothing can beat a set of SL434 if you can afford them.

Just to bttt this. I had a few quid spare (well not really, I'm just eating less to afford this ), so went down to Halfords and picked up the stuff I need.
Bought various wet/dry sandpapers and some aluminium oxide paper for the harsh inners covered in brake dust/grime. Also got 2 cans of white primer, 2 cans of white spray and a can of laquer. That and some duck curved masking tape.
Mate Chris has loaned me some wheels while I do it. Just concentrating on RON's Scoob piccy now and will then start in a couple weeks. I guess if I take it easy and use both hands to sand, I shoudl get repectable results as it's all in the prep work I've been told. 205 members have all been very helpful too.
So watch this space... will hopefully get some progress pics.
