Hi, I am new to all this so bear with me. I am 23yo with 2 years ncb. Insuring a standard my97 turbo worth £10 K through citroen insurance (underwritten by privelege I think) £968 fully comp!!! I think this is because I have been given extra ncb after sticking with them after getting free insurance with my new saxo vtr a few years back. They are also only asking for a cat 1 alarm aswell, (probably fit a tracker though!). Parked on driveway. How good is that!! Now all I need is to find a car!!

when i was 21 it was £990 fully comp/insured to drive any other vehicle upto value of £15000 fully comp.
car was 93 wrx
Now im 23 and its £1000 fully comp/insured to drive any other car up to £15k fully comp
Car is Evolution IV
Ahhrr, isn't it good having a bro in the Motor trade
Because i drive cars for him,to and from, motor auctions he was able to put me onto his trade insurance
(this insurance also covers me out of business hours before you tell me!)

24 years ols, 3 years NCB and I'm paying 1100 quid a year third party only. I was paying about 900 a year but my policy was cancelled thanks to the VIA's incompetence of delaying my SVA test..

24 Y/O, Drove a corsa before, 2 years NCB, MY00 scooby with Fuel and boost computers, lowered suspension, SS backbox, dump valve.
Tesco offered me 1300 for car as standard and 1700 with all the mods. Elephant offered me a similar amount but would not insure a car with a dump valve, though everything else was ok. Very strange!

What is it with Corsa's? 2 drivers previously owning one so far, that have mentioned it on this thread. I own one and am getting a Turbo sometime (hopefully earlier rather than later) this year...
Do we all get pissed off at the (old style) Corsa's crap handling (nice engines though); or is it to do with the people who go for the looks of the Corsa; or just a coincidence that there's a few who happened to mention it here... (sorry, going OT)

breezer: corsa handling was not that bad, i had a 1.6 Sport with sports suspension, nippy little beggar!
got so used to flying through traffic in it, just always fancied an impreza for looks and 4WD. Lost the back end so many times in my corsa I earned the nickname 'fishtail' at work!

I pay 1200 quid with Privilege Insurance ... I'm 26 and the missus is a named driver and 23 years old. Got a MY99 Turbo 4dr with Scoobysport BB and ITG panel filter. The car is parked off-road and has Cat 1 alarm and immobiliser and a 24 hour Guradian RAC Trackstar tracker (although this didn't affect the premium )
This quote also includes protected no claims of which I have 4 years. Try raising your voluntary XS, mine is at 500 quid which reduced the quote nicely ....
Cheers
Phil

Similarly, it annoys me that I'm 23, and paying more for my insurance on a lightly modded VW New Beetle (ha ha dont laugh - some mental modded ones ) on 19"s with spoiler, than people the same age as me with modded Scoobies.
Me thinks I should definitely get myself one now...

26 full NCB - std UK MY99 turbo. £950. Direct Line. (would have been £850 if it hadn't been for 1 SP50). Kept on drive in reasonable area. Still reckon I could get cheaper though.
Standard alarm and imobiliser. No tracker.
I think anyone on here who is paying more than £1600 is getting ripped off big time. I know it is easy for me to say, but insurance is such a rip off. Most of these companies are simply trying it on. Speak to two different people at the same company and you can be quoted 2 completely different amounts.
£2500+ is a joke unless you have had a ban etc.

I'm another citroen insurance boy (IS underwritten by Privilage). Aged 23, but only been driving on my own policy for 1 year but they gave me full NCB and its protected. They also accidently gave me 3rd party cover on all other cars which they now have to honour. Phoned for scooby quote, MY99 worth 13K and it was about £900 - just need to find the car now!!! Seriously though, if you have 0 NCB buy a VTS (brilliant car anyway) or an R if your gay, and run it for a year then trade up to the Impreza. The several thousand pound difference in insurance quotes and the cash you save during the free year more than makes up for it :-)

I have my insurance with Tesco:
Car: MY00 Standard UK
Age: 22
NCD: Zero
Accidents: 1
Occupation: Self Employed
Area: W.Mids
Security (required by Tesco): Tracker & Cat 1
Garaged
Excess: £1000
Cover: Fully Comp SDP+Business use
How Much? £2300ish...not bad i thought compared to others.
Rang them last week as I was considering alloys and exhaust sys....how much? Over £200 for exhaust and Over £300 for alloys!
I think the intial premium is cheap but when you need extras they charge £££s for somehting other insurance companies would not charge you extra for.

so when does insurance get cheap(ish) then i.e sub 2K cos i'm 19 and just having no luck getting good quotes the AA want over £2600 for a sport worth about £8000.
some people say get a quote at the end of the month cos they are trying to get their sales figures up, is this true?
or is it just pot luck!!
good luck everyone!

you should try AXA direct, as long as the modifications are only cosmetic they don't care! And that includes exhaust back boxes, as long as it doesn't increase power.
