My new tattoo

Thanks for the compliments guys! I'll put another pic on later now the clingfilm is off!
Slightly tender this morning as expected but nothing too bad!
Still gutted that I couldn't finish it in one session though
Debate now is to add colour or not?????

How about photoshopping some in to see how it looks? I love all the bright colours that are used nowadays but also think the black shading looks good. I'm not much help am I?

I like how the guys on here are blooming useless sometimes..
The clues
Breastage - check
Curveature to the back - check
Female jeans - check
Long dark hair -check
All signs pointed to a lady, yet you lot still had to ask
BTW, dont like tats personally, but I can admire the work that went into it

That is very very nice!!! the shading on the roses is very clean. If i was you i'd leave it just black and grey. But then i'm a big fan of black and grey tats.
I can fully understand where your coming from on the pain front though!
Mine took 6 hours in total

All depends on two thing to be honest.
I'm not sure I could cope with the discomfort of having more work done in the rib area - but I pretty much forget pain quite quickly
However, all of my tattoos are really personal and have alot of meaning. I have only one with colour which my first tattoo. I had it done after my dad died ad it's two yellow roses entwined with the hawaiian word ohana in between. My dad died of cancer and before he died I had a rose named after him (his favourite flower) which was yellow in colour. The word Ohana I wantd after watching Lilo and Stitch with my step-daughter! The character says "Ohana means family and family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten" I've always said that that tattoo would be the only one with colour and all my others are black shading.
Dunno, will think about it while it heals - got plenty of time before next session!

I had mine done in 2 sessions of 3 hours each. believe it or not i fell asleep for the last hour of the first sitting. The second was allot more painful because it involved lots of shading. i'm putting plans together for my next tattoo. Half jap style sleeve. I'm going to do it in full colour i think.
Ps if you have not got anything yet i'd recommend tattoo goo to help keep the scabbing to a min. used it with mine after both sittings and it works really well.

i think i just got used to the sensation of the gun and just dropped off lol. i had my ipod on with chilled out music on as well so i suppose that helped. 4 hours is a cracking effort. well done. Make sure you put up some more pics once you had been for your last sit.

I've just had a look at their website, I particularly like some of Gail Perrin's flower work. I'm thinking of ringing them but I'm scared

I've just looked at Gavin's work properly and he is really good! I'll ask for him then, as soon as I pluck up the courage. It's a bit of a trek for me but I'm happy to travel for the right artist
Will someone come with me and hold my hand?

Gavin's fantastic! Be prepared to wait though as he's very busy - always a good sign in my book! Gives you plenty of time to build up courage though!!

I don't mind the wait, I've been thinking about getting a cover-up for about twenty years
What's your name ritchie? I'm Sal, seeing as you'll be holding my hand I feel we should at least know each other's names PM if you want to keep it a secret

Right, I've rung them, they said to pop in with some designs that I like for a consultation with Gavin. So that's the first stumbling block as I now need to find some things I like
Swisstopher will not be taking any pics because if he does he will be stuck on a spit roast over a barbecue

I have a full left sleeve which started as full black and grey piece with a few highlights...a few years on and I've had half of it coloured in. Good colour ink has a bit more life to it imo

Can anyone remember that other long tattoo thread, was it Lee's or Snazy's? I posted some pics in that of the designs I like but didn't save the link
Laura, sorry for the thread hijack

I've looked all through that thread but that isn't the one. I was just re-admiring Bodski's design though, it's fab!

That's a good idea. To be honest, I've only once taken an idea into Gavin but made it clear that I wanted him to change it and make it his own! I've always just given him a rough idea of what I wanted and free reign to do whatever. That's what I did with this one. I've never been disappointed yet - in fact he always blows me away with his designs.
This one is actually the quickest healing one I've had done! Absolutely no pain now at all! Just can't wait til the next session!!!
