As for equating every Muslim with 9/11 terrorists, I never said that. As for Pat Connell, he obviously hates religion, all religion. He treats it with utter contempt, which is, of course his right. But don't for gods (sic) sake hold up his monolgues as some sort of proof that Islam is bad. That's like me posting up a link to a Al Queda broadcast as proof that the West is evil.

The problem is with Pat, is that he takes the worst elements of a given subject, and holds that up as the typical example that *all* people that follow that way of life are just as bad. Which is, of course, ridiculous.

Now I am sure you know, personally, lots of people that beleive in some diety or another, I am also sure that 99.99% of those people are fine upstanding people. Just because some nutter decides he is going to blow people up, does not mean all people that follow that religion are the same, anymore than Ian Huntely is representative of your average Soham resident.

The French are right for once and that's all that really matters . The appeal has failed and the case is well and truly closed For what its worth, the Swiss apply the same constraints to granting citizenship i.e. its a privilege and not a right. If you don't want to integrate then don't bother applying. It would appear the Swiss approach is also not very friendly to those that refuse to compromise. Its their country, so that is their choice.


As an import model (and a rather successful one if I say so myself ) - I say that if you want to walk around dressed as a dalek then that's your business, but don't expect to be flooded with job offers (other than in parts of West London) and certainly don't expect any social security benefits for not being able to get a job FFS!

There are equal opportunities aplenty for the most part in western countries, but you need to make an effort if you want to be able to take advantage of them. If you think your religion is more important than applying common sense and bettering yourself, then why not pray for help. Be prepared for a bit of a wait though....

The reason I'm asking is is that most of the posts i've seen of his are nothing more than trolling rhetoric and are usually complete bollix.

To be fair he made some good points, like the one about islam seeks actively seeks offence in everything, and its bullying of opposers!

Like he said, if the followers of islam just stfu and got on with it, rather than trying to change traditions and culture cos it "offends" them, things might be easier all round!

 

"Islam" doesn't actively seek offence. A small minority of its followers do.

Just because someone writes into the BBC and complains about the kind of cars reviewed on Top Gear, doesn't mean *everyone* is of that opinion. And that's where Pat Connel makes a **** out of himself. He equates the actions of the few, to be representative of all. (When it suits him, obviously).

The vast vast majority of Muslims in this country just carry on like the rest of us.
