I couldn't believe this story when I read it!
What a complete arrogant, mindless, idiot ba$tard!

Cem, Stuart H's option "b" is surely a must.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do...

Question

Cem

I've been thinking about this a lot, and I hope you get the guy sorted via the 'B' route, but could you not just have spead off when the woman went into one?

Hope you get the repair paid for tho

Cem, get him arrested.

He broke the law; the consequences of this are his problem not yours.

Hi all,

Thanks a bunch for the advice guys, really appreciate it. Its nice to know that I am not alone in having done what I did. Stuart, very good of you to take the time to help...it really makes the difference to what 'we' think is the right thing to do...thanks again.

This is what I have decided to do...

It is Xmas and new year is around the corner. I do not want to spoil anyone's holiday. It was very obvious that he showed visible regret almost immediately after performing the banzai move. What I have done. however, is delivered to his house a very stern letter with the official quote of £650 attatched. In the letter, I am giving until Sunday latest for him to contact me to arrange payment. If I do not hear from him by Sunday, then I will notify the police and he will spend new years day in the nick. I can't say fairer than that.

quote:
Originally posted by boomer:

Due to the big orange globes on stripey posts, and white ziggy-zags on the road, you are supposed to be prepared for the occasional (brain dead) ped attempting to cross the road.
At the time of me crossing the black 'n' white, there was nobody around (in fact, I had stopped a second before to let some guy cross). When I pulled off, a car came out of a corner and forced me to stop suddenly, with my rear end hanging off the crossing. I do not believe that I have done anything wrong.

Where's me rubber gloves
LOL

quote:
Originally posted by Yex:
The bare minimum for you to drop the charges will be £650, but I suggest you push for more incase the final repair exceeds this and he has then left the country
Yex
I have actually lost over £700 in earnings because of this punk. If I wanted to, I could push for so much more, but I really don't have the time nor energy. It is Xmas after all and I have more fun things to do

quote:
Originally posted by Geezer:

You really should ensure this toerag does not get away with this. Regardless of whether he or you had right of way at the crossing, there is no excuse for kicking someones door in.
Geezer
Couldnt agree more Geezer, which is why there is no way on earth I intend to let him get away with this. Apparently, even if he does a runner to Canada, I can still fugg him up from here.

quote:
Originally posted by Shark:

Yeah, I probably should have done Dave, it would have been the sensible thing to do, but she claimed that I actually tried to run her over at one point, god knows what she would have made up if I ran off.

Ill keep you posted guys, thanks again

Cem,

oops, i mis-interpreted your original post and thought that Capt'n Canada's Mum was on the crossing at the time (thus you might have gotten a bit of blame).

However, as the Maple Leafed maggot attacked you in cold blood - GO GET 'IM!!!

There has got be be a "breach of the peace" offence in there somewhere n'all - even if you don't press things all of the way, he will think a little more carefully next time.

Oh, and have a great new year... here's to better luck in 2001.

Just called the Police, they say there is a very good chance he has buggered off and the case isnt of too high a priority to warrant doing a search to see if he has left the country yet.

Even if they do arrest him, he would be out on bail and free to leave the country.

Cem, waiting for another call from police.

BOLLOCKS

Who are you speaking to? The Controller at your local nick?

DTS - I would dearly love to be in the pub, however as I was working all night I'm supposed to be sleeping. Oh, and the missus has come back from her parents early!

As for going to bed early.....shame on you!

Yeah, you're right. I'm a disgrace . My only excuses are:
1) I'm old
2) I've got to be back up at 5am from tomorrow so thought i'd better get something like a proper night's sleep...

What a c**t. Cem, just read this post from top to bottom. Little ****. Can you find out when he is leaving so me and the lads can wait at LHR/LTN/STN/LGW wherever he is flying from....he wont get on a plane without coughing up.

Stuart I am sure will point the CCTV cameras at the respective airports into our favour...and then maybe we can arrange a trip home in the undercarriage, unless of course he actually falls out Ahem.....

Let me know what happens, I have a few contacts that may be able to trace him in Canada and also surely if we have his name the airport authorities can collar him if they issue a warrant for arrest? Get one sorted if not and ask customs to keep hold of him with a latex glove some bic razors and some vicks vapour rub to make his stay that little bit more un-comfortable.

JohnF is off to Canada soon I believe, and of course we have Mr Squires representing the Western contingent.

Get him and rip his bolx off. Little cocky ****. Blame the parents.

Bastids. ARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHH

Just read this post.

Find out where he lives. Then mail me his address and I shall give him the "Registered Paedophile lives here" treatment on his fnot door via one of my lads in Vancouver or Edmonton or wherever this mindless little ****** lives. Should make life fairly tough for the little ****e. Not funny Cem, hope you get the dough back. If not consult a solicitor...if he admits it...have him return to court in the UK to face trial. Now that (if possible...Stu..?) would be hideously humurous

As for that to$$er

I was under the impression that once you filled in your accident report form and handed it back to the police station they had to act upon this.
After all, a crime has been committed.
Personally, I think you should leave it in the hands of the police.
What would happen if you payed her house another visit and managed to talk to her?

You revved your engine while they were standing 3 feet behind your exhaustpipe? Ok, thats not an excuse for getting physical but some of these motors make a hell of an agressive noise... (then again, carkickers are to be treated as horsethiefs, hang 'm)

It was meant to. The woman was giving me a hard time, I had my wife, sister and mum in the car...last think I want is to get an earful from some psycho. It was the only thing I thought of to get her off my case.

Sunil,
I have his mothers home address, thats where I hand delivered his letter. Do you think having this address would benefit me in anyway? I doubt she is held liable in any way.

Ronaldo,
LoL. My own private hitman.

Stuart,
What area are you based in? Do you not agree with what Mr Met Police said about this?

Cem,

I think what you need to do is call the station back and ask for the shift Sergeant/duty Inspector. If you were given an incident number that should make life easy when it comes to finding the job on the system. Make sure you also point out that you were promised a call-back yesterday.

Cheers

S
