Ended up having to do an emergency stop on a zebra crossing last night, my rear end blocking part of the black 'n' white. 50 something woman comes upto me and starts giving me lip
"Don't you know this is a zebra crossing?"
Starts waving her arms around like some fukcing monkey.

Fuc.ks sake I think. I rev my engine to get her off my case, she jumps back, as does her 30 something son, who then proceeds to do a run up and kung fu kicks my car wing, with my wife sitting next to me and my mum and my sister in the back seat. We are on our way to my dads shop to have a meal for new year, so not the kind of thing I want to have to deal with.

Basically, it takes 2 policemen and 2 sainsburys security guards to pull me off this fu.cking punk (sorry about the swearing, folks. I am pretty angry about this). He is lucky I didnt do him any permanent damage. I have the option to arrest this guy and have his passport revoked (he is a tourist from canada visiting his mother). No, I am not an evil person, I dont want him to spend xmas in the nick. So I just want him to think twice next time he wants to kick in an evo.

Total bill?

£650

He is in the country for another 10 days, will he pay?

Stay tuned....

What a tosser!

Press charges until he or his mother hands you at least £650 in cash.

[Edit : Are you allowed to do this? Could it be classed as black mail?]

Either he is mad in 'ead or has no respect for other peoples property, either way needs sorting out.

Chris.

I agree with ChrisB. Get her to stump up the cash PLUS some extra for mental harm caused or else her precious son spends time in the clink and will more than likely have grief trying to get back in the country next time

sunilp 28 December 2000 10:48 PM

Make him spend it in the jailhouse, ****ing ****ers. Then see if he dare does it again

Personally I think this man is the luckiest man alive because if it was possible for me to do so (6'3-17 stone) I would have had his head through the nearest wall or window possible and don't think twice about taking this matter further, GET HIS PASSPORT REVOKED ,GET HIM ARRESTED and MOST OF ALL MAKE SURE HE PAY'S and if he gets away with this in any way at all(BRITISH CRIMINAL SYSTEM)make sure he gets a PERSONAL SENDING OFF BY YOURSELF.

Sorry for the rant as I myself am not an evil person but these F*****G IDIOTS DESERVE ALL THEY GET.

Stuart H 28 December 2000 11:16 PM

Cem,

DO IT

You have two choices:

a)You let him go back to Canada chuckling his nuts off, with you £650 out of pocket http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/mad.gif

b)You get him arrested for Destroying or Damaging Property contrary to section 1 Criminal Damage Act 1971 and make sure he hands at least £650.00 over before he goes back (no cheques, GBP only)

I think most people would go for option B.

Anything else, mail me offline.

Cheers

S

Cem,

Option B take Stuarts advice.

boomer 28 December 2000 11:39 PM

Cem,

with all due respect, if you ended up with your rear end over a pedestrian crossing (either facing forwards _or_ backwards) when there was a pedestrian actually on the crossing (or intending to use it) then your could be on a sticky wicket!

Due to the big orange globes on stripey posts, and white ziggy-zags on the road, you are supposed to be prepared for the occasional (brain dead) ped attempting to cross the road.

Captain Canada might be a few quid worse off, but you may end up with a few points n'all.

Did the local security/police have anything to say?

mb

logiclee 28 December 2000 11:44 PM

Don't pedestrians have to ensure traffic has stopped before entering the crossing?

Lee

andymac 28 December 2000 11:53 PM

Having been on the receiving end of a viscious pedestrian attack (criminal damage http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/mad.gif ) by some psycho-witch (cops said she'd done it twice b4 & obviously liked defending herself in court http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif ) I thoroughly sympathise & say

"HAVE HIM DONE"

I followed mine through to court but she got away with it as no other witnesses http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/rolleyes.gif

Cops were confident that at least one of the other cases would come through tho'!!!

Also...

The way I read Cem's post says that he had to do an emergency stop for some (non pedestrian related) reason, that happened the other side of the crossing. This left the rear end of his car slightly protruding over the black/white lines. Then along comes MOM & her boy....

That's how I read it anyway. In which case he was totally innocent & should definitely have the barsteward done...

Highway Code rule 19:
......traffic does not have to stop until someone has moved onto the crossing.

Mr. Tosspot has moved onto the crossing after Cem has passed (or most of him has passed) therefore Cem is not at fault.

DTS,

The bloke who landed at Buck house attached to a motorised frame tent is still trying to get over his 'surprise' at the police response to his stunt and remove the barrels of several MP5's from somewhere they were never designed to go!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

I still can't get over the fact that he did a run up and kung-fu kicked the car wing...

What sort of total moron does that?

What did he expect to happen.. Cem to just drive away and get scared at his amazing martial arts prowess?

Times have changed
Our kids are kids are getting worse
They won't obey their parents
They just want to fart and curse!

Should we blame the government?
or blame society?

Or should we blame the images on TV?

No, blame Canada!
Blame Canada!

With all their beady little eyes
And flappin' heads so full of lies

Blame Canada! Blame Canada!
We need to form a full assault

It's Canadas fault!

Don't blame me
For my evo door's little ding
Blame the little c***
Who kicked in my lovely evo's wing!

And my old scooby once
went miles and miles without once getting hit
now my car is wrecked thank's to that Canadian Sh*t

Well, blame Canada!

Blame Canada!
It seems that everythings gone wrong
Since Canada came along
Blame Canada!
Blame Canada!

They're not even a real country anyway

My car could've been at brands or dono, it's true, Instead
it's been bashed up by a psycho dickhead

Should we blame the driver?
Should we blame the crossing
Or the parents who allowed him to ?

Heck no!

Blame Canada!
Blame Canada!

With all their hockey hubbabaloo

And that bitch Anne Murray, too

Blame Canada!
Shame on Canada
The psycho we must stop
The trash we must smash
The Damage and the harm
must all be undone
We must blame them and cause a fuss
Before it happens to all of us!

Blame Canada!
It seems that everythings gone wrong
Since Canada came along
Blame Canada!
Blame Canada!

Blowdog
And I thought I was unlucky sometimes.....

I used to like Canadians.........you heard what the man said - option B.

Stuart - why not superglue the fu6ker to that motorised hang glider you had trouble with yesterday and launch him off Canary Wharf tower (when a Dash-8 is coming in to land at City airport....... http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif)

Seriously have him arrested.

/Jerry - Sweden

Yex 29 December 2000 09:23 AM

Cem,

Takes Stuart's advise and have him arrested for criminal damage. W**kers like this deserve everything they get, and a bit of unofficial justice in my opinion http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif The bare minimum for you to drop the charges will be £650, but I suggest you push for more incase the final repair exceeds this and he has then left the country....just see how much his mum loves him !!!

Yex

Geezer 29 December 2000 09:38 AM

Cem,
You really should ensure this toerag does not get away with this. Regardless of whether he or you had right of way at the crossing, there is no excuse for kicking someones door in.

Don't have any qualms about feeling bad with him being in clink over New Year, he obviously didn't give sh1t about you, did he? It will teach him a valuble lesson and maybe he will think twice before acting stupidly again.

At the end of the day, it's entirely up to you and what your concience tells you, but don't take too much of the moral high ground, or you could end losing alot of dosh.

Hope it all goes well and doesn't spoil your New Year too much.

Geezer

Danny Fisher 29 December 2000 09:56 AM

When will people learn that they cannot go around damaging other peoples property.....

Jail the muppet, as above he didn't give a monkeys about you, your family or anything else to that matter.

GET THE POLICE TO DO SOMETHING USEFUL AND NICK HIM.....

Dan

AWD 29 December 2000 10:11 AM

Get the book thrown at the to55er. Kicking a car! Who the f**k does he think he is. You didn't hurt or threaten his mother. Titally unwarranted. Get his passport revoked and get the bill paid for the damages.

Was he a French Canadian? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Black Cat 29 December 2000 10:34 AM

Ah...now.... being Born Brit but spent most of my life in Canada... so oppps guys.... loved that blame Canada song though...

However... Cem I am sorry to hear you had all this hassle and they should pay for the damage to your car.... but in defense of the Canadian (I am ashamed to be associated with)... in Canada particularly Ontario... pedestrians have the right of way... they step off the pavement straight into oncoming traffic and the traffic are expected and have to stop at a second's notice... this could explain the violent outburst from 'Mom'... they (Canadians) tend to forget the that same rules do not apply in other countries in particular this one...

hope that helps explain some of what happened ... try not to let it spoil your New Year... after all this is silly season... and I expect they were in a hurry to get to the sales... I am now working in M&S during the sale and I have seen another side to people that I find totally fightening....and very aggressive...

I apologise for my fellow countryman and we are not all like that....

Happy New Year Cem... take care
Penni

AWD 29 December 2000 11:23 AM

That may be so, but if the mother lives in the UK she should have figured out the way that pedestrians/cars interact over here.

AndrewW 29 December 2000 11:57 AM

Cem,

Bad luck mate, throw the book at the bugger...

Now, I have been in the UK for four months, having recently moved here from Australia (snow, what the hell is snow?).

In Australia, pedestrians have right of way on pedestrian crossings, but most people are sensible enough to wait until the traffic has stopped before stepping out.

I have been giving way to pedestrians whilst driving here as well, are you telling me that they don't actually have right of way in the UK ?

If so, then this is one of the stranger laws in this country.

Now if someone could just explain why there is carpet in all the bathrooms ...
