Good advice mate
I may have to avail myself of your services
One thing I do need to borrow off someone is a PTG, as I have no idea of any of the thickness of the paint anywhere on the car , be it new or old paint.
So anything done so far is done with a bit of trepidation and the softly softly approach which frankly is a bit girly and pants

i have wetsanded several cars though. always give a cracking result. takes a fair bit longer though to do it right.
where about's are you based?

there's no way i attempt even mild polishing without taking thickness readings. even then i'm pretty wary. unless you spend a fair few quid, and by that i mean a large sum of ££ on a tester that shows you the thickness of individual layers it's best to give it some caution.

I know I have more than this, it's just not in the picture, It'll be a while before I can get pics up as I'm in the middle of building a garage (see DIY forum)
Should give me more than enough room to detail the cars

i used to have a little collection at my parents home when i was younger, with the usuall suspects included.
but i now i have a storeroom at work just for the cleaning chems, to be honest, its not pretty, but it is overflowing, with stuff, a lot of our stuff is bought in 25litre barrels, so at the moment i have about
250 litres of tyre dressing
75 litres of wheel cleaner
50 litres of machine cleaner (good for degreasing!)
200 litres of spray on wax
thousands of air fresheners
etc etc etc
some of the "collection" is pretty random, including 5 bottles of coloured t-cut in about 10 different colours, no idea where this came from, i can only assume i was offered it at a stupid cheap price 3/4years back and i figured i would somehow use it all up, its untouched to this day and all sitting on a shelf gathering dust LOL along with 3 or 4 different wetvacs, steam cleaners, machine polishers, more diamondbrite kits then you could shake a stick at.
should have a good clean out sometime, and i was selling off 25 litres of tyre dressing at a bargin price of £20 last year, but i just end up adding more and more to it as time goes by
its like the stockroom monster that will not go away
basically, anything we use on a day to day basis as the "favorites" is added to small decanting bottles/sprayers for easy use and kept on a shelf in the main office, so the stockroom monster is left to his own devices out the back

Mer? used it once on my old black Mk3 Capri, and vowed never to use it again, horrible stuff!!
My collection of cleaning gear is:
Black Diamond polish
Lot's of Autoglymn
fair bit of Meguiars
and some custom made polish sealant, not getting the scoob out the garage to take pics in case it gets wet!
Matt, any news of the degreaser mate? if not I'll have to try something else this week

I just use the water thats left in my bucket, my wife bought me a kacher wash thing, I told her it was a waste of money as I get just the same result from my bucket of water. I then rub the car over with my drying cloth and leave it sitting in the sun to dry, if the sun is not shining I just blast it down the road

Just thought I'd stick in a few photos of my garage with all me bits n bobs!! Not in the same league as polished bliss, but I'm happy with what I have (at the moment).
I usually keep my cloths in a bag, but I got this wee cabinet in Argos for 20 quid, does this mean I have OCD??
Cabinet
Applicators and general microfibre cloths (for the dirtier jobs)
good m/fibre cloths and also glass cloths and terry towels
Waffle Weave towels
polishing heaads and mops
All the other wee bits and bobs
Then I bought a tool roll from Halfords and put in all tools in it
got a few more photos, but I think this proves I'm sad enough!!
Happy Detailing
Mike

This thread should be retitled 'Cribs - The garages belonging to Polished Bliss shareholders'. Bloody hell Mike, that's some almighty collection, and very similar to mine just before I decided to start the business. Slippery slope and all that!
