Jobs that pay £1200 a week??? loads man, are you a Nuclear Warhead Electronic Guidance Designer??? sorted then - £260 a day and we STILL cant recruit!!! the pay needs to go up a tad I think?
Surely to god - no-one gets out of bed in the morning for less than £150 a day????? I DONT believe it if they says yes they DO!!!

I have seen an old mark 3 shape one, A reg and clapped for £600 thats as cheap as they get

Didnt think you could afford it Mr Manchester - You obviously havent got a clue about the market in these cars. Look in the Autotrader NOT the guides - it shows the 'real world' price!! I have done a NATIONAL search and cannot find one for less, NOT that 'make believe' MINT XR3 you mention.
When you say you are in the car trade - I would assume from your complete lack of knowledge that you clean the cars??
You find one for £500 and BUY it!!!
May I suggest that you buy insurance FIRST or you will be looking at ANOTHER 8 points!!

EVERYONE knows that you wouldnt have asked about the car had you been a dealer - why?? as you can get all the 'mint' cars you want for £4:99!!!! so, you are NOT a dealer are you??
As James says above £1200 is an average weekly wage so I cant see many decent Cabriolets selling for £500 (NOT good ones anyway!)
I do notice you are only 22 - I didnt know much about cars either at that age so I will be easy on you - just watch what you buy for £500!!!! I certainly would NOT pull my socks on in the morning for £500!!
