Cant wait to see the reception he gets when he runs out at Old Trafford, whenever that will be, probably March time after he has finished warming the bench

Don't get all emotional guys. The shirt doesn't mean anything like it does to the players compared to how the fans feel about it. A rare few do share the feeling. I'm happy he's meant to be staying. I'd clap him back because at the end of the day he's the best I've ever seen in a United shirt and he's paid to entertain and win things for the club which he does.

got to love Fergie when he starts kicking ***!

Maybe so but Ronaldo should have come out straight away and said yes i'm staying or no i'm going instead of lapping up the attention during Euro 08. Then to say he's been treated like a slave pushed me over the edge. A complete show of disrespect after all United have done for him. I'd be a slave for 120k a week

Well the interview which SSN were attributing a lot f the recent somewhat inflammatory comments to Ronaldo was aired on the 19th in full on ESPN and it seems that a lot of his comments were twisted and also they're not reporting the main jist of what he said. Apparently the interview with translation is on the SSN site.

I'll be the first to hold my hands up if i'm wrong but i can only go off what the media say

But i still say he should have come out and said "i'm staying" or vice versa. He's obviously trying to hold United to ransom and after a pay rise, glad to read today that United are sticking to their guns and saying no!

Short and simple, that is the crux of the matter for the majority of United fans, it's the lack of respect for all parties. Even on the ESPN interview he's behaving like a prima donna.

Then you see a clip of him in action and remember how good he is I'll still think he's a great player but a crappy human being.

That's the sad thing about all this FM. It's detracted from Ronaldo the footballer. We should be talking about one if not the best seasons from a player we've seen since the Prem began. His achievements last season are up for comparison with any player from any time. Unfortunately all that's been lost somewhat in the media frenzy that has gone on this Summer.

I agree and you can also say we should be talking about United's achievement of League and Champions League double, the day after the final the crap about Ronaldo started and that dertracted from a great achievement, it was probably scousers starting the story

Yeah I agree with that... the Scousers bit especially

The thing about the league and CL success is I find it's nicer to reflect on a bit further down the line. I love watching the Premiership Years on Sky and remembering the great games which turned the title in the direction of OT. On the Ronaldo theme the goal against Fulham last season and the way the players celebrated gets the old hairs on the back of the neck going!

That's what you do with a player who plays for your club... you support them. We're not some deluded fans who think players have anything like the loyalty or passion for a club that the fans do. One day you may realise that.

I as a Liverpool supporter would like to say that I think Ronaldo is a fantastic player. In fact many years back under mr houilliers reign, he had the option of buying him then, however he thought that we needed a better defence first. DOH! schoolboy error!

Back on topic, I hope he does go, gives Liverpool the chance to finally get the title as utd without ronaldo are probably only a top 6 team (under Liverpool )

What are you basing this on?

Chelsea have a squad of amazing strength and depth. United won the title and champs league with the current squad which they're looking to add to not to mention a lot of the younger players are now more experienced and improving. Arsenal were unlucky last season with injury's at the vital part of the season. They've lost 2 important players but they still have better players than Liverpool. Liverpool are an average squad with 2 top talents and that's it. They will be looking over their shoulder to retain 4th again and certainly wont be getting either of the top two spots.

Can you please explain why Arsenal and Liverpool are going to finish above Chelsea and explain what improvements Liverpool have done to their squad that will see them challenge Man Utd.

Looking forward to your comments.........

chelsea imo in transition (depending on who else they bring in) they are getting on a bit as well like fergie says, also they now remind me of real madrid when they used to have the "galacticos".

Arsenal sold some of their better players so they will replace them again with kids (who will be very talented) but they will run out of steam again. On their day they will probably still play the best football but they wont have enough days.

Liverpool have more than 2 talents, Gerrard, Torres, Mascherano, Agger, Skrtel, Reina maybe also Carragher a very good spine in my opinion. Also have other very good players Alonso (for now), Babel (who hopefully will show his potential) so that is not bad. There are also some promising reserves which may make an appearance this season.

Utd, well we know their squad, very talented but I dont think they have great strength in depth, first 11 are brilliant but after that I dont see much. Best thing that happened to utd was neville getting injured as he is hopeless, would probably on get a first team place at utd reserves (sunderland, middlesborough)

okay maybe chelsea will finish above arsenal

believe my post below your post and above this post will cover it.

Liverpool have kept a consistent squad with only a few additions, so they should gel more quickly, utd well strong first 11 maybe a few players after that but thats about it (imo of course) also the fact if ronaldo goes then they have lost most of their firepower. Lets face it without ronaldos goals last year they wouldnt have won the prem and would have probably finished 4th or worse.

Chelsea, new manager, non english speaking will struggle. Feel sorry for Avram as he did a bloody good job, certainly got the best out of ballack.

Do you really want me to pick holes in your points? I'll not go into detail too much but it's like this...

Chelsea. A squad with huge strength and depth. Now have a World class manager, still huge funds to spend and are no weaker than last season when they pushed United all the way.

Arsenal. Lost Flamini and Hleb which will effect them a bit. However history has told us that Wenger is brilliant at bringing in younger players and slotting them in straight away into the team. they have a fit RVP this season which is a huge boost. Gilberto's legs had gone so no loss there. They will be an equal to last season.

Liverpool. A manager who is clueless in the Prem. A team of average players built to support 2 good players. Lost Crouch who is the only other viable striker to Torres. In defence they are weak at full back and Carragher is past his best. very susceptible to pace hence Rafa now employing 2 defensive midfield players.

United have a squad still improving with players like Nani and Anderson coming to the fore not to mention the improvements Ronaldo, Tevez and Rooney will make.

As for the comment about take Ronaldos goals away... are we kids?! you could say the same for Liverpool and Torres. It's a pointless thing to throw in.

Prem prediction.

Chelsea
United
Arsenal
Liverpool

Just to take issue with some of your points.

Chelsea's aveage age is 28 compaired to Man Utd's which is 27.5(Sky Sports)so Fergie's comments about Chelsea's squad being to old is him playing mind games.Watch Luiz Felipe Scolari's 1st Chelsea press conference which he speaks english to be fair its not great but he can and better than what the media make out.Man Utd are the team to beat finish above them and your champions.
