Well I'm 18, had my car for over a year and can safely say I am not a chav. It's not just how you look, it's the whole attitude to things which defines being a scally.
I like performance cars, so I bought one. I usually have the windows down, because I love listening to the engine note. I personally like the OEM look, but if someone likes the 'bad boi' streetfighter bodykit look, so be it. They bought their car, pay their dues let them do as they please.

but how are they abusing the brand? theyve paid and earned their prides of joy so leave em to it? wanting a scooby comes from very young ages, just because us young lot werent around when u were...or when scoobys forst started, and suddenly now 20 years later were buying them...doesnt make u any better! if we can afford it, who cares? half of the younger people posting in this thread have already said that none of them are chavving up their cars with silly bodykits, were jus speaking for a majority...so read properly! dont be ageist. maybe ur jealous that u couldnt afford a nice car when u were young. i could go out tommoro and buy a 25grand m3 convertible, but i LIKE my scooby, wether being abl to afford a newer car or not, i pay my way, im onto a wealthy career and id like to say when i was younger that i had a very nice car at the age i had one, somehting to look back on, ACT SHARP MAN!

i've got to be honest and say this is my first post on here, and after reading this thread probably the last. i fit all of the stereotypes in this thread and am fairly discusted by them. i'm 22, i wear aquascutum hats(like burberry) and i have 4, yes 4 scooter albums in my car, oh and all four of my windows are down when i choose to play them. i've been driving 6months only and have a classic turbo 2000, which as i'm sure you all have, i've worked bloody hard to buy. insurance of 2k, petrol and running costs as they are, buying the car, and for what??? the so called ''community'' spirit that there is supposed to be? anyone want to take a pop at me for being fat too?? the people who've commented on this thread need to step back and realise that because i'm young, and wear the clothes i want, i'm not about to rob my nan of her pension or stab someone, or even think i'm damon bleeding hill when i get the opportunity, i'm an enthusiast like all of you!!!!! and to be fair, the whole age thing in my opinion is out of jealousy, as back in the day when you were our age, state of the art was an allegro!

i've certainly not found anything to suggest this is banter, if it is, then my genuine apologies, it just cuts deep to think that this could be what fellow drivers think after working so hard to be a part of it all. i've always had respect for these cars,i've grown up around these cars, my bro has had four of them, one of which was far in excess of 4oobhp, previously owned by a stan smith, might mean nothing, but he seems to be quite well known in scooby circles.

not really, you see, In DCI's defence, there was a band around called the KLF.... you may have heard some of their references being bandied about by the scooter massives.. nothing quite like the original

i quite like the free Genesis Cd i got in last weekends Sunday Mail.![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)
I am into all music, this comes from a 16yr old daughter & 3 other kids. Me & the mrs decided after yrs of putting up with usual cars, we decided to both treat ourself to Impreza's. Both Classics & both paid for.
We are not rich, but work hard for our luxuries.
As long as I get a wave, It dont bother me who drives Imprezas.
Next year we may go to Nissan or possibly Mitsubishi.

Personally i think Ash u are making an idiot out of urself now. I did think that younger drivers on here were getting tarnished with the same brush but after hearing some of your rubbish posts plus that new poster that IN MY OPINION types in exactly the same way as yourself, i don't blame the older ones in taunting you.
Sad fact is you sound like an idiot!

if this is in reference to me, then you scroll back upon my posts, and apart from defending myself, then having ''banter'' back, you tell me what i've done that's offensive, rude, or anything of the same ilk......i'd love to see the reply. is it people sticking up for themselves? is that it? why? do you not feel so powerful now that us kiddies have an opinion.

i certainly dont want to fall out with anyone, these sites are normally a fun, and at useful place to be. i merely defended myself, then after being told it was banter, returned some......i'm not a bad person, i even eat my greens when mummy tells me to.
