Image?

What image?

I think people need to realise that THAT is the image of an impreza today.

Unfortunately plummeting prices on SH imprezas mean they can be purchsed by the young, and thus so frowned upon.

I borght a 350bhp cossie at 19 and my impreza at 22.

Does that put me in the same boat as these people you talk of?

Not having a dig fella. Just food for thought maybe?

I think you need to expand your comment a little. I often drive one handed with my windows down and with my brown haired (and foxy ) wife in the car. Does that mean i'd **** you off too?

Just like to ask, what is the recommended driving stance for driving around in an Impreza then?

I've got no problem with the boy racer types owning a scoob. I only wish I was there age with an ace car.
When I was 19 the best car I had was a calibra.....
As for an image..... all sorts of people drive scoob's, we're not talking lamborghini here.

i have to have 2 hands on the wheel in mine as 35mm offset 18" wheels on a classic impreza (small omp steering wheel) sometimes like to steer themselves when "pressing on"

to be honest i wish i could do the one handed thing, but driving even remotely fast over crap roads one handed in mine = danger

should have seen it before the expensive 4wheel alignment

I hate the Fast and Furious look a likes with the huge bodykits and jap graphics. The Impreza's heritage is from rallying FFS.

But that is MY personal opinion. People might not like the look of my car. Thats their personal opinion.

I think some impreza owners seem to think the car is in a higher class than what it really is.... its an affordale practical nippy car.

Thats why we have them, if we could afford Porsche GT3 RS's then we'd be driving about in those... i know i would

Scoobys are cheap to buy a desirable, maybe with the huge increases in fuel tax it may force some of the younger drivers to sell?

Here's hoping, but not just young drivers as some young drivers are as sane as us "older" drivers

I think we can class them as the moron element of the community - young and old.

You'll have to expand on the "hat" for an opinion on that.

I mean.....a top hat would look quite ridiculous as Imprezas don't really have the headroom (unless you have a very low seat, or diminutive stature), a bowler might be acceptable, but only if you were driving a 22b (well.....it's the closest Impreza to the "Big Cat" Jaguar that Steed drove......think arches), a straw boater would blow off coz you've got your window down, and a Burberry baseball cap worn backwards is probably a bit "chavvy" for most.

Yep, the brand has now hit the affordability brackets of baseball cap wearing chavs, hence the **** ugly body kits and blinged up efforts being spotted of late!

I suppose in NSR we're the last bastion for the elite Subaru owners; intelligent, affluent but also modest and charming.... we're a dying breed

I will admit I am young and i do drive with my windows down. This is only because i bought my car on monday and the weather has been hot and due to my weight consious mind, i decided to get a car without Air Conditioning.
I prefer the feeling of knowing that i am in a nice car that i like as opposed to trying to prove it to anybody else.

AS THE ORIGINAL SWISS TONY WOULD SAY

DRIVING A SCOOBY IS LIKE MAKING LOVE TO A BEAUTIFUL WOMAN

NOT SITTING AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS WITH UR WINDOWS DOWN AND SCOOTER BLARING OUT UR STEREO AND UR BURBERRY CAP ON BACKWARDS!!!

I've been driving with all my windows down, and the sunroof open, as it's been lovely weather and there was an onshore breeze. Oh and I had Radio 1 on my Kenwood stereo, some cool designer shades on, and when stuck in traffic, my elbow out the window.

No Burberry in sight, 43(just), and to most people a totally standard Scooby. I just enjoy the fresh air, as I spend all day stuck in a modern glass office block with crap aircon and no opening windows

Nothing wrong with the window down, listening to some of my favourite tunes,it's my f**king car i will do what i like.
It's not a privilege to drive an Impreza it's a choice and with all choices some people will not like yours or mine.
