I'm aware of that being a Texas licence holder myself. What I was trying to imply is that short term use of an American car on a foreign licence is neither cost effective nor realistic.

Lets call it assumption by implication then eh
I'd be interested to know how you'd be insured on it with an English driving licence. Assuming of course it's USA registered.
Would suggest you believe me to have only a UK licence and would have difficulty getting covered. Would it not?

As for the speed thing, indeed, I would agree, but for the ignorant amongst the community, beling clear is probably the safer bet.

As for cost effective/realistic.... Not really related items so seperatly.
Cost effective, who cares about cost in the name of fun. After all, if I were to hire a Shelby I would clearly not care about money.
Realistic. Clearly it is, if money is not an issue, then it can be very real

Anyway, lets stop chipping away at a straight forward post eh. Or is it wrong to do something that goes against the grain?

If I was to 'stop chipping away' then I'd likely suggest I don't believe you have a cat in hell's chance of borrowing and using that car while you're on holiday. That wouldn't be polite though.
Moving on if money isn't an issue then why not rent something decent like a Cobra or Corvette for the day?
The Shelby Mustangs are cheap to rent BTW.

An opinion you are entitled to, and far more adult that chipping away at something, rather than making your point

Why not rent a Cobra or Corvette.... Simple, I dont want to I prefer an SUV while driving in the US, personal preference and all.
However should the SUV and the Mustang convertible we have NOT be enough, I will find a legal way to use the Charger. Its non standard, and more than likely a lot more fun than a rental.

The Shelby's are indeed more than affordable. But when its not what you want, its a pointless waste of money.
Also, why rent a Corvette when you can rent a Bentley Coupe or an SLR lol. The "why not" game is endless.

Just a final point, I would not for one second want people to think I was pigheaded and arrogant enough to claim to have endless money. Money at some point always becomes an issue, (for those of us below you of course ) however if I really want something, I will find a way. In this case, I dont want a Shelby, let alone enough to justify the cost.
