Star- not just a RR for power figures...

BTW his RR was checked & re-calibrated yesterday, engineer said it was spot on & made no adjustments

you never know CC by that time i could have
upgraded the ecu with anti lag( thinking of gems)
ported the exhuast manifolds

ouch, that was below the belt, but i will rise to the occasion.
but believe me you won't be saying that we i over take you. i am sure you will come up with some excuse, like my brakes were too hot, or i was at my slow down lap or something of that sort

Good result Dave You'd better tell John before he starts getting abusive
Any idea why the car was run to a higher rpm than on a rolling road day?
Looked out both my graphs, and peak rpm on both of them was when the graph cut off, around 5,800rpm, at which point in time power is still climbing (has always confused me why they stop it there, the red line is still miles away)

You've been speaking to Pete
I've junked my td04, running big boost with it has taken its toll and it was starting to sound unhealthy.I'm running a VF28 from an sti model and pretty happy with the results.I tried it set at 1.5BAR and in the wet the wheelspin in 1st & 2nd was pretty scary, but at 1.3 it is more controlable.I prefer the slower spool up,it makes the acceleration feel smoother as well as quicker.I'm just having bother 'feeling' when its time to change up a gear, theres no drop off above 6000 and find myself hitting the rev limiter too often.A bit of practice at Crail will sort this
I am tempted by the NOS just for its charge cooling capabilities, but after my mates CRX blew a pipe off the bottle and filled the cabin with 10lb of gas, and froze his boot carpet, I'm a bit wary.BTW this is what we looked like when it happened
Theres plenty info on most of the VF range, but can anyone give me a link for specs. on the VF28??

Canny wait m8
Maybe sneak down there & get some practice in again, I'm sure Willie will want the regulars down for some test runs.
Looking forward to a wee drag against yours....recon we should be easy 12's this year
Roll on...

Very nice Dave!
So will I now hold the dubious title as the Star TD04 king?
Is a new compressor wheel allowed or would I forfeit the title? I am really very tempted - it is only a little bit extra boost and a lot less heat and I keep the TMIC and ECU.
Can I ask where you sourced the VF28 and are you actually planning a FMIC?
If I got a new turbo would you fit it for me? How long does it take?
What sort of nick is your STi intercooler in and should I buy it off you if you get a FMIC?

We proudly name you the 'td04 king' and I'm sure a few mods to it wont invalidate your title
A turbo swap (providing all the nuts/studs come off) takes about 2 hours & I recommend an oil change at the same time.Just contact me for a booking.
I did an sti engine change a while ago, the second hand engine came complete with turbo. He had a new VF23 on his blown engine and wanted it swapped over, he kindly let me keep the 28...perks of the job
Afraid the intercooler is spoken for already, but sure Grade A will have one on the shelf.Spray it black & remove the stickers if you want it stealthy. We are looking into R & D of our own fmic kit using my car as the demostrator....more details soon.

never spoke to pete mate
it is not that difficult to work out though, you work with subarus and the VF23 is the most readily available and that
http://www.mrtrally.com.au/performance/ and go to turbo data
you will find all you need to know about the vf23. basically don't raise the boost above 1.3bar-1.4bar as over that it just starts pushing hot air.
