I never said for one second that you were racist at all now did I? I know you about as well as you know me mate, ie not at all. I however have not judged you in any way. You are a little wide of the mark by saying I have a chip on my shoulder and are being a tad judgemental.

On the offence thing however, you will never in a million years convince anyone that (generally speaking) being called 'Northern' is genuinely offensive, certainly not racist as you say. I concede however that it may have felt that way in the context of this thread.

One last thing though Mal, do you have any better examples of the protection you referred to in your earlier post? All I can say is that I do not benefit from such things, neither do I wish to. I find it hard to believe because of my own experience that's all.

You have understood in the main where I am coming from, that's fair enough. Saying that I "relish in the interaction", I take as a compliment. It's what this BBS is about imo.

I will reiterate that I have no trouble with your views, I have read many of your posts over the years, the jokes, the banter, and some of the insight into your personal life which you have provided, all very amusing and interesting.

I cannot, right now (and my memory is good for these things) remember a single post where my reaction was the same as the other day.

Look at my post count, it is easily outnumbered by the volume of race related threads on SN in that time. If I had had more time, who knows?

There's a massive difference between good natured banter and racism. As well as honest open discussion and racism.

It's knowing the difference and where to draw the line, that many have a problem.
