Not sure what to do about the races. Brucie keeps sending me text messages saying that there are races to enter, but when I ring him to organise one, he says there aren't any.
There are so many on each island if you phone him and he says there arnt any go to a diffrent island and phone again. There are 15 all in but if you want the achivement you have to redo 5.
I got the 2% completion from Brucie's races after only doing 9 races, as gotmashed says i think you need to do all the unique races then repeat some for the 20 wins achivement, i repeated the 2 races bottom right of the map near the airport, finishing 1 put you in the area for starting the 2nd, finishing this put you near 1 again, repeat and rinse.

Anyone else find it annoying that it'll only spawn about 5 different models of car, means if you're drive some **** box then you suddenly see loads of them on the road, whereas jump in one of those 360alikes and they're suddenly lining the streets!?

Nice one mate, will try that. Got 1 space taken up by a cop car so I can access the police computer without the hassle of avoiding the stars.
Taking the taxi is no fun, I actually like nicking cars and hooning about in them aimlessly.

i was on about this at work the other day it really does p*ss me off it happened on other gta's as well
It's no excuse at all tho, but it's ok folks, this game is a flawless 100% so you must enjoy it because you've been told to

as my points score shows (only just gone over a 1000) i've never played any game for achievements or completion but just for enjoyment so yes i've spent ages just driving about running people over, causing pile ups and racing about. It was by doing that I got the 6* achievement by luck, drove along the railway line and into a tunnel and just sat there shooting at all the police that came into the tunnel after me.Only just got the police car so didn't know it was going to get wrecked, can't you just nick another one or is that it, 2 cop car missions and no more?

Nope, it's using a similar numbers of polygons regardless of what cars are displayed. What it does cut down though is the amount of ram used as each car model will eat up some memory. Fewer individual car models = less memory used = more available for other stuff.
I did the same, stole a police car, cleared my wanted level then drove it carefully back to my safehouse thinking i'll be able to do wanted missions when i feel like a break from the story only to find it destroyed after doing 2-3

I wasn't being sarcastic in my post, if you're enjoying doing what you're doing great that's what it's all about.

was in jest, i'm cr4p at completing games or doing missions which is why its taken me what must be 18 months to get to 1000 achievement points so tend to do my own thing in free roaming games like GTA and Crackdown
Disappointed about the wanted missions as thought they were going to be a bit of extra fun that I would find easy to do. Still have the emails at the internet cafe to do though so will keep me busy from the main story for a while.
Also if you have a weapon and it runs out of ammo do you lose that weapon after an amount of time? The Uzi I had bought for me disappeared after a while even though I didn't get busted and also the M16 type rifle I had again disappeared for no apparent reason
i think so, i had some assault rifle and when it ran out of ammo i lost it, which was a pain when it was about 3500 to buy another (which i then had to buy ammo for lol)
was hoping to get the main story mode of GTA finished this weekend, but i ended up playing gears of war multiplayer all last night instead

As for weapons yes you throw them away when empty, a pita later in the game when you have the RPG and they cost $15000 a piece to replace

Thanks fellas what a pita that is and if i'd know that i'd have stocked up on ammo as that m16 rifle thing is a handy weapon to have and have lost 2 uzis now
OK so not just a couple of police missions then, so once you have the police car it gets destroyed after the first couple but then if you take another there are still more police missions to do?

, if destroyed simply jump in another police car and the missions are there again (except the ones you've already completed), they'll always be available to play anytime through the game and even after story is complete.
I only bought my 360 last week and one of the boys lent me his GTA IV he only got it back today, love playing this game.
The only problem I find is that when i go outside - for real - I get dissapointed that i can't just car jack a nice car because i can.
******DISCLAIMER********
I dont really get dissapointed

killed my self 4 times on that mission when you have to block the tunnel with a truck and use the rocket launcher
the cover system is proper clumsy IMO
lock on a target, sometimes he will pop out from behind cover, sometimes he will not and just fire the thing into the truck in front of you
pedestrian controls are still as gash as i thought they were back in the beginning, did get used to them a bit, but still find flaws with them
think i have done about 60 missions, and somebody said the main game has 94, so nearly at the end (never bothered with the side mission stuff, will do that afterwards)
