Looking back on things the first Safehouse was great, it had a cop car always parked up on the opposite side of the road and a hotdog stand serving 24/7

For those going for the 100% completion, on checking my stats to what i expected them to be highlighted a couple of things you need to do, i'm currently about 8% lower than i should be.

Anyways, 2 things have come to light.

Friends - 10% (even if you unlock the achievement you still need to do the following)
Open all unique abilities and complete all activities
You need to do every activity available for each person,

Brucie : Boat, Bowling, Drinking, Eating, Heli, Show, Strippers
L Jacob: Darts, Drinking, Eating, Pool, Show, Strippers
Packie : Bowling, Darts, Drinking, Pool, Show, Strippers

For games, you must actually beat your friends (i.e. beat them at pool, darts, etc)
Roman and Dwayne do NOT count towards the percentage

Random Characters - 5%
Find all the random characters and complete all their missions

NOTE: The achievement for No More Strangers only requires you to meet each random character once, for the percentage, you must complete all parts i.e. Brian Part 1, 2, and 3.
Jeff, Cherise, Clarence, and Ivan do NOT count towards the percentage.

 

if you spawn a car, is it considered cheating?

 

Depends on your morals

Nope, as it doesn't actually benefit you (you can get the cars from anywhere on the island) it just speeds up the finding process.

Certain cheats do disable achievements, spawning cars doesnt.

 

I was hoping that Rockstar would have sorted this out and made it more realistic by now.

When I'm in a 4x4, every other car is a 4x4. When I'm in an Infernus, every other car is either an Infernus, Turismo or Comet.

However when I need a car and am standing in the road waiting to carjack the first car that approaches, absolutely nothing turns up - it's almost like a ghost town even in the middle of the day.

This may be regarded as cheating and you're probably all aware of this but if you enter Rockstar Games: Grand Theft Auto IV in the computers at the internet cafe it gives you maps for the pigeons, hidden weapons, hidden armour, friends and a strange one about perverts that you should not meet!!

I met some weird geezer called Eddie last night and had to give him a lift in the game but I wasn't rewarded with any money or anything so I'm not sure what that's all about. Maybe I'll just kill the next weirdo that shows up on the map.

I still can't fire the fecking missiles on the annihilator I wanna cause maximum carnage like I used to in SA, it used to be great to have a 10 min blast when I didn't have time to play the game properly.

 

Check your stats page, can't remember which category but it's the one with the stats for pool/darts etc, right at the bottom it tells you how many friends/strangers you've meet, these are important if you wish to complete the game 100%, however don't affect the main story

 

Do Jeff, Cherice, Clarence & Ivan count for the No More Strangers?

For the rolls, I used the Infernus - if you hit the ramp at an angle you'ree more likely to get it - took me ages. You can get away with less rolls if you flip instead, eg, you might only manage 3 rolls, but if the car flips twice that'll count as your 5.

Chain Reactions is giving me headaches. Blocked off star junction with 10 buses last night only to find that buses don't explode... then piled up 10 cars exactly how a youtube vid shows and still didn't happen.

I've read that using cheats does prevent some achievments popping - dont know which though.

 

yea i had trouble with the chain reaction one as well, 10 cars around a petrol station, toss the nade

You aren't far off mate, once you get on the top island there are only a few missions before you get to the middle island

 

Don't think so, i got the achievement on meeting 12 people if that helps.

Chain Reaction was a pia, i stumbled upon 2 potential places however both have a police patrol and can be a pain, theres a large carpark usually full to the left of the map by the power station towers (near the 4 low bridges) and the outdoor carpark next to the airport. The cars sometime spread when explode so not all 10 actually ignite.

 

I struggled with Chain Reaction until I watched this Youtube video... Did it first time then.

saw it last night after i switched the 360 off, will give it another go sometime this weekend, i`m not in any hurry to rush into this game as i`m planning on keeping it until the DLC comes out at least, so i have plenty of time with it yet (about half way into the story, just killed playboy x)

 

Im told it puts it down that you have cheated but doesnt effect your achivements.

Has anyone found the twin turbo (evo i think it looks like) with the dump valve found on by the old run down house where you take the van full of drugs#

For chain Reaction nick a bus or a car if you like and park it side ways on the bridge get out nick another and put behind it then just wait untill you have more than 10 cars and chuck grandes in and watch them go up.

Anyone having a hard time with "finish him" go to the helitours and pick a fight with the guys in yellow jackets keep taping A untill he ducks then hit Y a few times you should get 2/3 counters before the guy dies. If you die grab a cab and quickly go back and do again. But start with the guy alone away from the others so you dont get 2 trying to hit you.

Also wheres the best place to get the roll 5 times achivement and which car is best ive tryed the airport be keep being shot or just rolling once and hitting something that stops me.

 

I'm getting a bit bored of this already, something i wasn't expecting, the missions are always the same, no stupid missions to lighten the game up like the old r/c ones in the previous games. I also miss the parachute used to love finding a small pool on GTA SA getting as high as you could and skydiving into it. The most fun i've had on this one is getting a helicopter to the top of a skyscraper and snipeing the general public.

 

same mate, i keep getting stuck on the missions now and am getting bored of just driving about there isnt even any cheats to unlock planes ar there????

righty, got the chain reaction one and the car flip one now

spent another hour bowling, still cant get that one

even tried another controller

can get plenty strikes, just not in a row, it was stressing me out so i switched it off

 

lol, it's really easy, choose lane 1, take 2 full steps to the left, and bowl slowly, around 18mph i think, just pull and push the stick back slowly.

 

after taking 2 steps left, you need to work the right stick like a metronome - and make sure when you push it forward, it's going directly forward and not slightly yo one side... I managed 5 in a row.

 

I got the bowling one yesterday. A video on You Tube said to make sure you let go of the right stick once you've pulled it back and sent it forward. I got it in no time after this.

The 10 car one was the easiest so far. I used three cars to block the bridge and then shot at one until it set on fire.

I've also unlocked the main island now, it happened straight after the second mission from Elizabeta (I had to drive a guy back to his flat there).

Currently on about 23% but i've still not managed that bloody flip!

 

I've started collecting the pigeons, for some reason decided to count how many i'd got, 65 marked off on my map, 64 killed according to game stats, doh!

Luckily it wasn't at 199 when i noticed.

 

There's a cheat to spawn a helicopter (anniliator), might use the cheats to get the weapons packs so i can just have a killing spree (to to help complete it) if you've ot the second island just go to the helitours for a chopper.

 

Don't know about anyone else but I'm really bored now, serves me right for having 2 single player games on the go at once...

 

I almost threw in the towel getting those stupid pigeons, currently on 98%, just need to do Brucie's races.

For anybody still needing the blow 10 cars achievement, the prison carpark is packed full of cars.

Note that the aforementioned cheat WILL disable the ability to get some of the achievements. I *think* for the spawning of the Annihilator chopper it stops you getting One Man Army and another one I cannot remember. It does tell you what it's disabling once you have entered the code though.

 

I've only used it to mess around when i'm bored, as long as you don't save it you'll be fine plus i've got a PS3 so achievements mean diddly squat to me
