Salsa,

Are we still driving down together or do you want to fit slicks. I can bring the wife's car with car transporter on the back? .

Are these RS boys getting frightened?

Dingy,
Will be good to see you again at Donno, wish I could make Oulton Park but it looks as if I'll be working.

Cool

Surely not the same Dingy who used to hang around Turnditch with Jam and kept crashing his white Escort with Cosworth running gear - er about 7-8 yrs ago !?

Will Lowe's my brother in law, you went to Anthony Gell with my wife Rosanne, I was into bikes then and had a CBR600, I was around the Summer that Jam finished off and the wrote off that ?orange body shelled MkII
I think you will find the Subaru slow BTW, the performance figures flatter it as it has such good traction off the line. There is little room for tuning the engine without throwing shed loads of money at them, I'm running full exhaust/induction and LINK and it makes a very swift and responsive road car. You might be better off sticking with Ford with your background knowledge, thats not the same car you gave me a ride in up to Piggy Wards in 8 yrs ago is it? Small world

Rigoli of Oz has achieved a 10.55 @ 134.7 mph for the 1/4 mile.
He runs a hybrid Turbonetics T60 @ 35 psi.
So much for the alloy block not being able to take high boost levels!
All the details in Fast WRXS No 2

Tut.... look at me.... late again.

Yes Dingy, it was my type R that you followed up the A52 in Craig's HEAVILY modified STi.

Yes I was hard on the pedal and Yes Craig could have easily pulled harder than my car (at the moment)

I have no internal mods or engine mods yet, other than exhaust & induction kit).

Compare apples with apples though, your car is also heavily modified isn't it?

When my car has had it's planned engine mods, not only will I be passing you through the bends and on the brakes, (like I did at the last Dono event), I will also be passing you on the straights (where previously your extra power briefly opened up a gap).

Like I say compare apples with apples.

Then throw a few bends in and things quickly change. Never been into pure straight line speed myself, and you are talking about a straight line acceleration between 3rd & 4th only.

Mike.

Mike

Mine is heavily modified - but it has no ecu work as yet, so realistically is no better than std. It is only pulling 1.1 bar, less than it did as std......but still seems fairly quick....

Just waiting for a new turbo and injectors......

When it's been done, then...........cya

Lol @ CraigH

Just been looking up the price of a set of 100mm Cosworth pistons - uhm, doesn't look like an upgrade I'll be getting just yet.

I'm sure it'd be worth it though

Craig, who built your engine ?

Succesfull i mean by most wins...
Plus its now in the WRC class....

The Brothers at stoke still race there MK II and usually finish in the top 10....out pacin most scoobs that are entered...Not bad for 25 year old technology...
Plus i have never been overtaken (straight line only ) by a scoob...

my brakes are comin in feb.....so i will get faster

Dingy,

Wiz readin the forum an noticed one of u r posts. Bout modz n stuff.. I only jus had it explained 2 me an its right enough, bigger tyres dont give more traction. Bigger side walls do Now that I know this I`ll b stickin my 15s back on fir 1/4ing.

But back 2 the forum eh..
I got a 12.8 1/4 outta my 93 WRX with 17s on it an a fecked clutch once I managed 2 stop the wheelspin The guy in the EVO in the other lane was miffed when I shot past him I had 2 get a new clutch later the same week. So got a better 1

Mike for you to pass me on the straights you will need 400+ bhp in yer scoob.....Probably more like 500+...(then the gearbox wont take it and probably the diff) Where as mine will take up to 700+bhp.....don't think your diff will take that....

In a word.....it won't happen....Plus my brakes are better and so is the handling....so i will have a go at you into the bends...

Plus mine is only going to get better.....and a lot faster.....

Mine also Dingy, It is a known fact that Imprezas don't need the ultimate power to beat a mere Ford.

Strenghtened gear sets for my spare gearbox are already on order. It's a behind the scenes job at the moment but it's gathering speed.

Mine is not a sierra though, so i probably loose less than you through the transmission...
plus is weigh's about 400 kilos less than yours......It would be nice to see scoob overtake me on the straight...but i can't see it....

Plus my mere Ford is the MOST successful Rally car even made....so the scoob has a lot to live up too....

i know phil and mick squires in stoke dingy.

That escort of theres is pretty well the ultimate for rallying, only robin bradberry has a faster MkII in the forests and thats got a 2.4 millington lump where as the squires use a 2 litre BDA.

Sorry mate, but things have moved on big time in the BTRDA in the last 2 years. They havn't a hope now, you need a WRC or full GroupA car to finish anywhere respectable regularly.

Still good to see the OLD MKII's out though.

Best party after a rally for me was the night adrian struthers won the BTRDA championship in his MKII, the last championship win of note for the car, that was back in 1994 i think, we came 4th overall and won the class championship in our Manta 16V.

Scarborough was seriously terrorised that night My head still hurts LOL
