Salsa, honest to god mate, i am / was think of a scoob in the summer. But they weren't that fast...
I think my expertation of fast must be quite high, but we could have over taken the STI type R with ease....

Think i'll stick with me MK II and get a normal car as i would be disappointed with the performance vs cost curve.......

Think i'll stick with the MK II RS for the Mo, i guess faster scoobs will come soon.

Your comparing a 280Bhp Impreza that weighs over 1200 Kg's to a MK2 Escort that has (350 ?) substantially more horsepower and weighs as much as a crisp packet !, hardly a fair comparison for straight line speed now

Get one of the guys to take you out on the next track day (I would but I only have a UK car and drive like miss daisy - you would not be impressed !)

My Fastest time so far is 12.6 @ 107 mph. As I remember I changed into 5th before the line... to get back into the power band.
STi-3, std turbo/cooler, link, trust exhaust,K&N + Samco inlet hose (AVO).

Only on 0-100, but with my new mods i reckon its goin to be all the way, bigger tyres for more traction.

Performance Ford this month has a feature at brunters.

Any we were in a ****** when i saw the car go...and we didn't even give it any stick.

The capri beat me 0-60 by about a second. but i beat him to 0-100, so if i could get the power down to a about a 4.5 sec 0-60 i reckon my 0-100 would be mid 8's. I only managed 13.00 1/4 though on the same run as my car was mainly spinnin....too much power and not enough grip....

I too thought the capri was faster.....just goes to show

I attended the meet in my White STI Type R, and unfortunately i didnt give it any of the loud pedal (the roads too slippy and a screaming wife preventing me )

Still, the blue one was either a P1 or a well sorted Type R, both of which had small children in as passengers, so i doubt that they would have been going that fast.

Both of these cars and drivers are extremely quick on the track, been passenger with both.

I`m sure if you ask nicely at the next Donno trackday they will only be to happy to show you what they can do. I will be there on the 13th, spectator only , look me up and i`ll take ya for a spin in mine.

Fastest recorded times from my red WRX scoob were:

1/4 mile time of 12.7 and anyone that knows the car knows it could manage low 12's easy! I had a pitiful launch too

0-60 Time recorded on that car was 3.9 seconds! good launch too!

Top Speed was Recorded with the right gear @ 164MPH not a dodgy speedo either with pro timing gear!

This is the sort of thing we should be posting on this thread not about some Capri Dingy lol

Only mods on my car:

UNICHIP
Water Injection
Mongoose Exhaust
HKS Induction

And the car had a standard turbo not a VF22 as I originally though, standard mitsubishi turbo as all pre 98 WRX's, I think this also proves you don't need to have a STI to be quick just a WRX like mine is suffice

Salsa....to be perfectly honest most of them were trying harder than myself......i was spinin in every gear.....even 5th at some points......

My car is capable of low 12's for the 1/4 and low 9's late 8's for the 0-100......watch this space.....

Really looking forward to Donno,now seems better when you know a few people you are on the track with.....
