I never thought I would say it but it's time to leave for a more robust and grown-up brand. A sad day
lol, you're mixing up Subarus with Austin Princesses lol

I'm guessing you must also hate cyclists?

And the "act of God" reason for not being able to claim on insurance when one goes loopy on the road, and damages your car?

Its happened to me

no if it had been a cow(anothe rbig animal) that was on the road and you hit it, then the farmer is to blame as he didnt look after the fences etc. so why cant the horse owners be to blame and payout!!

(almost imposssible) The rider at the time was on the horse who was some toff nose posh bird living in Chelsea admitted her fault but later changed her story. I eneded up paying to get it fixed myself as my insurance excess was £450 & was not protected ncb, hence not worth fixing through insurance. In the end cost me over £1k from my own pocket

SO now if I see a horse I give a really wide bearth or just turn the car around.

I have to admint I dont have that much of a problem with horses and horse boxes/trailers where I live. Its in a rural area and the nearest dual carraigeway is 100miles away. Never actually seen an old smelly horse box up here tbh. In busy areas I probably would feel different about horses on the roads.

This is a funny thread (I might note especially for the two horse owners taking offence )

Of course they should be insured if they are on the road end of. As for the guy with the horse shaped bonnet if a dog bites someone the owner can be sued how is this not also the same for horses ... are they closer to god ??

Bum bags all round .... or a bloody big cork ?

No-ones mentioned the skin tight jodhpurs(sp?) yet. Excuses a lot as far as I'm concerned.

I think riders should be made to clear up after the horses (like dog owners have to)

Horses are all right. I had a really tasty 'cheval burger' with chips in Morocco a few months ago. Much tastier than beef - lean, tender, mmmm - that was one fine burger.

Don't ride them, eat them.

I'm not going to tippie toe arround this.....................I hate horses!!!!There i said it.My main gripe is the selfish gits on their backs, i live in the country and i am often stopping to let cows from one field to the next or slowing down for farmers and what ever, and thats fine but when it comes to horses and their owners its a different matter you've to treat them like they have more permission to be ther than you!! slow down,no loud music,no loud revs etc etc.the other day i was behind one that started to have the usuall dump in the middle of the road and the checky cow on it tried to tell me to stay behind it untill it was finnished!!! needless to say she got a shock if the horese is easily spooked then IMOH its a danger to other road users and shouldn't be legal on the road!!! Deep breath.........Rant over!

^^^ couldnt agree more. There is a place for horses and thats a field where they can get all the excercise they want without being a danger to the majority of the road going public. As i said earlier it should be a criminal offence to let an animal **** on the public road unless the person in control of it cleans up after it

I don't mind horses it's the jumped up tw@ts that ride them. If they want to go on the road then they should pay road tax like all the rest of us, end of. *** off and ride the horses on your private land.

The thing that annoys me most is when i see little girls on horse back on a busy highway trying to control the beast with no head protection or high visibility clothing. As far as i'm concerned anybody who rides a horse on the highway these days is just a very cruel irresponsible lunatic.

my god there are some real dillions on here! this isnt about horses its about class wars! people with infeariority complexes that need a fast car to make up for the lack of substance in thier pants and brains! think that every one that rides a horse is a toff!cars are much mor expensive to buy and run. horses are fantastic animals there is no feeling i am yet to experience like going at full chat on a horse and if you like thrills as i do you should try it .better than cars, bikes, boats and planes. as for them being taxed get a life!they dont pollute and thier dung doesnt make kids go blind like dog poo.as for the morons that go speeding past horses on the road karma has a way of catching up! mind you judging by your level of intalect it already has!!

Although they slightly annoy me I live with it.

I can release my anger though. In the freezer there is a dozen horse heads bagged up, from horses that have died at Newmarket.

I use the heads to train the vets at Newmarket how to perform procedures with our lasers so they can breathe easier in races (the cheats) and various other things on there skin.

No way using a live horse, first time took laser there warned them if the horse kicked the laser thats £140k to be told, if that laser harms the horse it's £4,000,000 :O

Quite,
Oiks just do not seem to or want understand that a horse is a living animal, whilst they are generally well trained and of good temprament they can get spooked, Chav charriots making lots of wheezing noises and exhaust the size of dustbins along with megabass zombies do not help.

Suggest some people show a little respect for other road users, taxed or not. Horses have been around a lot longer and will be after some of the rice rockets have turned to rust.

Some civility and respect shown to others would go a long way in this world.

Not all horse owners/riders are toffey-nosed ruperts and henriettas at all and most are responsible and courteous. if we are stereotyping then perhaps the o/p and horse haters should stick to drag strip racing in Maccy D's carparks and doing donuts outside B&Q at midnight to the assembled 13 y/olds.

Get a grip, show some respect and common sense. car v.s the horse - horse will squash most tin foil thin rice rockets and their occupants if it all goes wrong!

I speak as an ex horse rider and ex scoob owner so no real axes to grind either way!

Oh and horse insurance for the road/accidental dammage an excellent idea imho!

Plus you do get a lot of fit totty in tight jodphurs and riding boots, ok some mingers but a lot of fit ones as well!
