I was just thinking more of a little more clearance Ian,with 2 10mm spacers and gaskets you'd actually end up with around 24mm but I do see that the chance of a leak is higher.
We decided on 20mm after taking mocking it up with four 10mm spacers...I don't want to risk the TB fouling the bonnet, I'm even going to machine a little off the fuel rails to allow for heat expansion...I really don't want them touching

Yes it's a nice shade for sure it enhances the casing a lot
I'm not going to ask if that's your front room in the engine pic
spare room...higher ambient temp indoors means the engine is less likely to contract too much before it gets run. It's sub zero in the garage so no good in there
When's this motor going in Ian? What more needs doing?
only waiting on a couple of things; 20 IM spacers hich i'm going to call Alyn about tomorrow and fly wheel bolts. Job wise I need to put the drive train in, connect the final two DCCD loom wires, move the oil cooler up in the arch and then I'm ready for the long engine. I've got to make up the fuel lines and plumb in the Accusump other than that nothing
In all seriousness it should be all straight forward except where to put the Accusump...it won't fit between the baulk head and IC pipe into the TB so its going to have to be wedged in between the headlamp and suspension turret where the battery used to live.
I've got to drill out the locating pin holes Alyn, will post some pics once its done. Taking a bit longer than hoped but I want use a pillar drill to male sure the holes are square.
Hey Ian, could I ask how easy it was to freshen up the alternator, is it easy to take the cover off? engine looks good mate, hope things go smoothly for you

Thanks Iain...looking at your build and having done the alternator rebuild I'd go with one of the mini denso alternators if I were you...mine is clicking where the brushes engage so there is a good chance I'll be swapping to one after all my hard work It's a crappy job, avoid it

we can arrange re-finishing of fasteners, etc. if required we can also anodize ali parts or remove and re-do previously anodized parts if required.....
