A few bits done this weekend; Accusump needs a switch so I'll use another Bright switch which is the easy part. I already have ALS, LC, a hi/low boost switch and the headlamp adjuster in the four slots in the centre console, but I want to run all the switches together. I decided to extend the loom for the headlamp adjuster and run it in one of the spare slots next to the handbrake. So I went from this...

To this...hope it works!

Which meant I could add the wires for the Accusump switch via a proper connector from the DCCD donor loom

Also worked out what to do with the ECU, its twice the size of the OE unit and with the loom adapter takes up far more room. So I've messed about with the OE mount and can fit it all in; I just need to buy some long M6 bots and some metal tube to act as spacers.

So just that pesky pink connector and a vacuum hose for the ECU (on board map sensor), and I can put the dash back in

Ian, when I fitted my number plate I used Nylon spacers to keep it away from the fog light cover.
M6 that you need, not sure how long you need though?

I've had a bit of a DIY derived hiatus from the wagon; whilst decorating I found out the builder that owned my house before hadn't actually supported the upstairs extension at all on one side of the house and where he'd knocked a wall through to make an open plan lougne\diner he'd used a crappy old bit of timber as a lintel
Still all sorted now and back to the car...
First off belated thanks to Ryan for helping me join the ti club

Shifter bushes and gearbox mount bushes by Kartboy and a massive thank you to Greg at TiC

Cleaned up and swapped over the shifter bushings, you can see the difference here...

Gearbox cross member was a mess...

After a bit of a clean up...

After a few coats of straight to rust Hammerite...hopefully I'll get a chance to fit the bushes sometime this week.

Cleaned up the Group N gearbox mount too...

Thanks to Frayz for the call about this bargain...other bits will be here soon too

Bit of a long one...looks very much like both engine and gearbox are going to be finished in the next week

Gearbox cross member re-assembled with the Kartboy bushes...I'm surprised how well it came out tbh

Alternator refurb almost complete...I'm going to replace the bearings too if its not too much of a ball ache. I'm not sure if there is anything else I can overhaul on it...i feel a google coming on.
Sand blasted casing...

Painting; hi-temp grey.

Filthy internals

Dummy rebuild...not sure on the blue, had no choice really as it was so rusty so needed straight to rust paint even after being cleaned up. I might paint it black, any thoughts?

Cleared the garage out and made it secure for the arrival of the new bits...I think I have all my ducks lined up now i have the engine stand
Chaos

Order

Shed outside a shed.

Still weird seeing it put together

And finally so pretty darn sexy photos
