Righto, been a while since I've updated this...because I have done mostly nowt on it! My new monstrous fmic arrived just before xmas with a modification courtesy of Parcel to Go...cheers for that you bunch of ham fisted buffoons.
Rich who sold it to me is waiting for some compensation or similar and then I'll get it repaired as there is no way the hoses are going to stay on the flattened bit; thanks Rich. A couple of comparison pics below to show the increased size of the core and the cold side pipe...it's only a couple of kgs heavier than the original too.
Removed my front sub frame yesterday, Zak is going to raise the roll centre by welding up the original wishbone mount points and drilling some further up...not a fun job and I bet it's going to be far worse refitting
I now have to think about how to remount my oil cooler in the bumper as the new fmic core is so thick I want to maximise the air flow through the rad. I guess I'll have to fab some ducting at the front and then I'm going to fit a vent in the side of the bumper, again to maximise air flow but this time through the oil cooler. It's funny how progress sometimes means taking even more off

a year? pah, im crackin on for 2 and a half! and yeah i need to drive mine too. list of bits to do is getting smaller, just need a bit of wiring, clutch, paint and mapping and we should be good to go road legal again. then next winter, full underbody paintjob, polybush, engine build and new drive train wonder how long that will take if its taken me this long to fit an intercooler and spoiler !

2 years for a fmic and spoiler, that's impressive...what you should do is list all the extras that you've also fitted so we can see the extent of your scope creep, I bet it's fairly substantial

Yeah sholud be fun mate. As for scope creep its getting annoying now! Not alot of classics with front mounted turbo! and yes will still be the gt30! Exhast will still be out the back too
