my god. just need some luck and officials help to win these games and we get none of it. imo wasnt a penalty, and if you saw that as a pen what the hell was kuyts challenge on hleb last week. oh well nothing can be changed now
**** it thats football. a brilliant match.

Good luck Liverpool. What a player you have in torres

Now then a note to wenger WAKE THE **** UP. eboue right midfield and senderos in the team. the reason we lost(apart from not scoring as many goals). What more does theo have to do get a start. like watching a young owen.

chelsea united final, thats funny

Way I see the penalty, there were 2 challenges that were dubious on Babel, first one started outside the area (dont know who by) the second in the area, think if it was just the one then nothing would have been given.

Even without the penalty, I fancied Liverpool to score. Arsenal started well for 20 or so minutes but after that they faded badly. They dont have a squad to compete in my opinion, however on their day, their first 11 will play most teams off the park, just not the might LFC

What a game!! Glad Liverpool won but do feel sorry for Arsenal, they started so strong but just couldn't keep the pace going.

Agree Walcott should have been on earlier - he would have if he'd been French me thinks.

Looking forward to chelski...they will not be wanting to face the reds over two legs again with the current history.

My predication? Liverpool v Barca in Moscow

Superb game. Just finished watching it on V+. That's what you get though Wenger for playing Senderos. At fault for both the first 2 goals. May still have scored them as good run and turn respectively but they were made far easier due to him being nowhere.

Game was a tale of 2 refs for me. 1 pen not given and anther was.

Superb run from Theo

I just hope that game knocks the stuffing out of Arsenal for Sunday

yep senderos is a crap defender. at fault for 2 goals.i feel when i see the arsenal squad lately, like i do when the england squad lined up under the past 2 managers. "Why the **** is he playing and why is he playing there" keep eboue at right back and toure where he has been a great for us CENTRE back.

yup we played a load of long ***** last night, for some reason. Ade couldnt get on to any of them. that is credit to skirtel.

why are liverpool fans being smug on here though? 3 matches and you never really came out to play. home CL game you got smashed and were lucky. prem game was more like a coca cup game with the changes. last night you were good at times, as were we. personally i dont feel you would of scored in 5mins if the penalty hadnt gone in. was it wasnt it? well it was as much a penalty as cesc's in the league on saturday and that was soft.

Now i dont see liverpool as a fierce rival so losing last night was gutting, but not as gutting as losing to chelsea, man u and yidos.

I wish you luck. i think you will need it this year to win. but please beat them blue nose *****

Great game of footie with everything you could hope for (except Ronaldo crying when he's just lost - but we can wait for that )

Oh well - perhaps senderdross will get his marching orders - apart from him looked like a pretty good effort from the rest of both teams

Chelsea v Liverpool - I guess it's down to who you want to lose the most.

Come on you REDS

Personally I thought we would in fact as Arsenal scored I got a text from a manu friend saying game over. As I sent my reply saying "we will still score", we got a pen

it was as Gerrard scored it. Different refs look at things in different ways. I think to be honest though it was because there were 2 challenges, one outside the box (dont know the player) and then the challenge in the box. I think if it was just the one challenge then it probably wouldnt have been given.

that just sounds bitter to be honest, past few seasons think we have done better than you trophy wise.

Nobody's being smug (well mostly ), it just what you're reading into it. We're in the CL semis and glad about it. Be fair, I'm sure you wouldn't be full of sorrow for the losing opposition if the boot was on the other foot. Never came out to play? Benitez is a superb tactician in these tournaments. You can't go all guns blazing and expect to get a result; its a fine balance.

All that arm waiving must do the job

I can understand why Liverpool fans are jubilant but if they take a step back and look at the 2 games they will see they have been fortunate again with the ref giving big decisions their way ala Inter and for all his 'tactical genius' Rafa's team still conceded 2 goals at home when they we're meant ot be 'compact' [pushes hands together Rafa stylie]

As said though Wenger lost the tie for me with selection and formation.

PS ITV did my head in... by the end I think the Anfield crowd had found a cure for cancer, torres had just discovered the genetic code required to beat the HIV virus and 'Stevie G' was on the cusp of working out what happened at the moment of the big bang

Great game to watch from a Nuetral point of view although I was hoping Arsenal would do it as I prefer their style of football.

After the first half hour Arsenal just looked jaded, the thin squad with no real quality to back up all the games theyve dealt with this season started to show. We all know Senderos is sh!te, he has been ever since I saw him play the first time round. I dont know why Wenger persists with him and was definately to blame for the first 2 goals, firstly losing Hyppia too easily and secondly allowing Torres to turn and shoot whilst standing the best part of 5 yards off him, whoever taught him to defend should have a word with themselves.

I thought Arsenal had snatched it with the equaliser. the scoreline looked flattering because the penalty was very harsh on them which forced Arsenal to push forward giving way to Liverpools break for the 4th. Wouldnt have happened without the Pen.

Personally I thought the use of Walcott was correct, wait until Liverpool have ran their socks off, pick up a few bookings and then put a player on for 20 minutes to scare the living hell out of them. IMO he doesnt quite fit into Arsenals style that they play from the kick off hence leaving him til the end to give them something else.

Either way, watching another Liverpool v Chelsea semi is hardly filling me with excitement. Borefest ahead.

Looking forward to Roma trying to give United a good game tonight, they obviously have to go for it and United should be able to handle them at OT so should be a cracker. No idea if theyre good enough to get past Barca in the semi though, should be a good game, been looking forward to watching United v Barca for a long time

Liverpool fans I know, know and accept when they've been slightly fortunate, unlike the other bitters Its part of football, played by and officiated by humans, its not an exact science. The sooner people get used to the idea the better. You win some you lose some. We got the result and its the 3rd Champions League semi in 4 years, call it want you want, Rafa knows his stuff.

Better than the usual Sly Sports bluenose bias. You sound like someone a little jealous of our passionate fans, which is understandable given your sorry prawn munching lot, most of yours would be on the bus home to Dorset long before the end

right jay are you trying to wind me up?? im being gracious mate. im not moaning im just saying how it was. 4-2 was final score but with pushing everyone forward you are going to hit us on the break with babbels pace.
as for bitter??????WTF. where did that come from? you are not are rivals are you, ive never had an "incident" with a scouser at a match or elsewhere. i mean arsenal and liverpool fans dont hate each other in the same way as ****-yids, liverpool-mancs. so it doesnt hurt as much to lose to you. as for trophys, dam right you have and this needs to be addressed.
i wont go on about the penalty but as you said jay, there was 2 challenges? so if the first ones a foul that means free kick. it doesnt bother me(to much) about descions as its done, no turning back. but it winds me up when the other supporters wont admit obvious mistakes by officials that should of gone our way. yes wenger moans but my god i think he had cause on this one
but again it was our own fault. to weak at the back.

i dont think i would be smug and say we were the better team if we won as its clearly a game that would go either way til the end and superb football was played by both teams. a big game with big desicions.

like i said before i'll be following liverpool now as its always nice to get knocked out by the winners

at the end of the day if you would of got your pen at home then the score would of still meant we were through, if you are as you say you are, the better team then why didnt you win one over the last 3 games? stop going on about the pen and just admit that we got the luck that it requires to get through, every team gets luck at times to win trophies.

you played fantastic football for the first 20 minutes and apart from the odd flash from the under used walcott you never did much else.

your just sounding bitter and sad going on about the same thing over and over. you had a total of 180 minutes to win the game but you never so accept facts your so called big team aint winning anything AGAIN

personally i felt the commentators were sat there with arsenal shirts on they were that bad, they were hoping and praying for them to score at 2.1 and then they were going on about shutting up shop

thats true about the scoreline, but why would we have everyone up front at 3-3 when we would of been going through on away goals so the break never would of been on see its **** facts like that, thats annoying to read. if we got the penalty it would of been a diff game completely.
looking at the stats you never really "did much else" either

and of course we are a little bitter and going on about it as its the defining point in the game

look how much you lot moaned at the last min penalty chelski won to earn there draw.

you cant say that we would never of scored at 3.3. If you watch liverpool in europe or even sometimes the league they will never give up on a lead. just look at the final a few years ago. every team has bad decisions made against them, for christs sake we had the one mentioned above earlier in the year, that was the last minute so the chance of coming back from that was as good as zero. it wasnt the main defining point in the game, the game lasted 180 minutes so there was plenty of chances to turn it around when we brought babel on that could be the defining point of the game. the fact you had senderos was more defining as well
