Spoke to someone today who has organized over 100 cab drivers as well as dozens of coach drivers from Oxford to attend and has notified the police.

Hoping to be able to park at Hyde Park if possible just need to see what the Met say.

There is a lot of work going on in the background with this.

Whilst this is more about making a point, I do see what Paul3446 is saying though - this government is only motivated by money, and businesses will lose more money if we do this on a business day than a weekend. Businesses will b*tch at the government if they lose money.

I do think agree that the protest needs to be a week day for the impact it will have and the media taking it more serious over a working day for most of Britain.

This protest has got to be the biggest ever arranged so we do need to all stick together to make our point.

The only issue with changing it at this late stage, is that people will get annoyed, and will have problems taking time off. I agree that a weekday will have more impact, but if he's already submitted protest papers for that date, it could delay things more.

It would be good to know the plans, i.e. park up in hyde park, or park around westminster, or outside no 10.

Always remember though that anyone has a right to protest.

Agree that a weekday protest will cause more disruption but i chose the weekend as the majority of people do not work weekends and its all the faffing about getting and booking time off.

We are looking at delivering a letter to Number 10 now and driving past Hyde park.

Just have to see what the Met say?

A guy from Oxford has been a massive help with this and is having a meeting with the Met in London to discuss the route we have chosen, No10 etc. and is also hopefully going on the local radio, he has over 100 cabbies meeting up with us, they are going from Oxford services.

A lot is going on in the background.

If half the people turn up it will be a massive success and i am hoping that due to so many people that are that p***ed off then a lot more will turn up.

It dont matter if its a weekend cos london is always busy 24hrs 7 days a week and i reckon more people will turn up on a saturday, ive booked day off for this already

Lets hope most people turn up on the day & with all the other protest going on maybe just maybe MR BROWN & his BOYFRIEND MR DARLING will do something about the fuel tax cos at the end of the day i reckon this will lose them the next election if they dont look & listen, i think most people are at breaking point now & not just with fuel prices, i know im feeling the pinch now and i know when i get the scoob back i wont be able to enjoy my hobby as much as i used to cos it will cost a fortune in fuel bills, even if i had lots of cash and could afford it id still surport this protest cos there are people out there that are going to struggle big time so i would be doing it for them even if it only makes a little bit of a difference.
I cant understand those people that have come on here and say things like "it wont bother them cos they can afford it or if you cant afford it then get something more economical to drive, to me thats being selfish instead of surporting others, so at the end at the day its about making a difference & helping each other out by getting prices down

I've been on holiday for 2 weeks, and watching the international news channels it seems we are not the only ones that are upset with fuel prices etc.

Really pleased to see the list has grown and things are dropping into place.

I will finish off the poster designs by the end of June. I'm thinking of publishing them as a word document so people can add their scoobynet user name to personalise them.

Can I make a suggestion about having two threads, one for the list of names and one for the discussion?

If 8000 bikers managed to turn upto Plymouth for the Megaride (Charity Event) im sure this should get good support. Would be good if more protesters could get involved? Has anybody spoke to local haulage companies etc?
