there are a lot of niche departments within the big firms which people (including some of the people that work in these companies) don't know exist. Its all about billable hours at the end of the day and niche consultancy can sometimes be very time consuming due to the complexities of one business compared to another. in order for a company to grow in today's business environment it must diversify it's product portfolio, the big firms know this and therefore embrace smaller but highly lucrative departments such as BPO.
