I started getting a cover up on my upper arm and have now progressed onto a full sleeve. I am about 10 hours into it with at least another 5 still to go. I had a good laugh at the licked by puppies line, my last session was my inner arm and elbow.

I lovel black and grey especially watching it appear, fantastic stuff
Just decided that the koi and the design for my thighs needed colour in them.
Definatly want some B&G pieces done soon.
Its not horrific, but the only description I have is that the skin gets tired of being gone over and over. Each time they finish with one colour you know they are about to go over it all over again lol.
I was whining about it to the missus the other day then if finally hit me... I have 2 quite big tattoos, both which consist of things which require loads of shading and fading, flowers, scaled creatures as well as smoke and clouds, my own stupid fault. Solid objects for me in future lol

lol na, im not a fan of solid blocks of colour either, I was only kiddin. 
Like I say, next ones will be B&G for me too. Gonna start with the foot to see what I think of the artist, and go from there. I like his work already, just want to be 100% sure its for me lol.
Then I can get started on the chest/shoulder/sleeve pieces. Not sure where i will start, probably the arm, leading onto the chest and back, rather than the chest first.
lol @ wanting more. If only I could find the time to get more done, never seem to find enough of the stuff. And there was me thinking it would be money holding me back.

Woohoo, off to see a new artist locally who's work I am loving. Going to see her about getting a new small tribute piece done for my recently lost friend.

Well, just had a long sit down with the artist. I hae given up a little more flesh than first planned but all for the greater good.
She has come up with some brilliant ideas, so real excited about getting it started now. Poss 2-3 weeks time.
She reckons roughly 8 hours to get it all done. Bargain! Pics WILL follow each session lol

Hurrah all booked in for my first sitting on the 20th. Got the rough basis for the design now and it looks bloody lovely (not a broken bone in sight)
Just working with the tattooist on the finishing touches to the design now.
First session, 3 hours straight on the foot, then walk on crutches for a week lol

Last sitting i had a 3.5 hour sitting to finish it off, as i wanted it all healed for my holiday. I had seriously had enough by that time, but the pain was because of the design of the tattoo as he had to go over the same areas as many as 3 times with different colours to get the shading of the colours right. The pain was soreness rather than pain caused by the needle itself.
My personal opinion is that the feeling of the needle is more of an irritation than pain.

Definatly an irritation rather than a pain but one that gets more and more intense lol.
Will have to see how I go with the foot. Could just ***** out lol

Same as having injections/needles etc really I guess, top of the arm, bum and middle of arm are fine, top or side of hand etc not so nice.
The line work in general is no bother at all, its when you start having them coloured in and shaded that it starts to become a little interesting.

Well I don't mind needles too much, got used to that in my job, not sure i would enjoy a complicated tattoo though.
By performance I meant it must be a bit of a game getting it done, especially a long one as you both were describing.

In the process of getting a full sleeve, the koi at the top was to cover up which ment it had to be colour. The line work has been done on the lower half and a start made on the shading but still plenty of pain to go.

Nice piece there mate.
My next piece starts on Friday, looking forwards to seeing what another part of the body feels like, and of course seeing the piece develop as usual.
