Most memorable was leaving the Bol D'Or 24 hr race @ 16:30 on a sunday afternoon and back up to Calais except we missed the turning and ended up going via Paris (
) arrived Eurotunnel @ 02:30 but no trains running so we had to wait until 4:30 and eventually got home about 6:30 and scared the wife who hadn't been expecting me for another day LOL. About 750 miles all in on a GSXR750
Being a courier done a number of "road-trips" over time.
London to Glasgow & back in 10 hours (Granada Scorpio 4x4)
London to Strasbourg, Maastricht & back to London - left London 7pm and had delivered both packages by 08:00 the next morning
London to Edinburgh by Nottingham & Newcastle and back to London one Sunday. Took the woman who is now my wife, rang her up and said "Coming to Nottingham, fancy having a drink in Edinburgh this evening?" - such a romantic me!

St. Malo to Orange, about 1,000Km, several times in 3 different Scoobies. No problems. Done thousands of miles on French motorways & autoroutes, the only problems I've had is numb-bum-itis, a crow in through the lower grill @ 120MPH, and skid marks in my boxers from when a tyre on an HGV I was about to over-take delaminated, and the whole tread bounced OVER my car.
would it not be more than 550 miles? as it took 500 miles from me to get from where i live(100 miles north of aberdeen) to Blackburn. aberdeen to edinburgh is about 160 miles and it was over 250 miles from edin to blackburn. maybe 550 is how the bird flies or have you done it before?
Think it's 550, did it a few years ago in my old Mazda 626. Try Google for directions, this should give the road mileage.
Just remembering that for a silly "initiative test" that I once did, I hitch-hiked from Chichester to London to Glasgow via Liverpool then across to Edinburgh, Berwick-upon-tweed, Newcastle, Hexham & back down to London - took me just under 36 hours or so
Mad!
