Its fingers crossed time really. Thanks for the positive & helpful replies.

She was on her own and has no witnesses to her side of the story and although I am connected to mine it will carry some weight.

It is a funny one that Iam aware of the law regarding the issuing of a ticket and this seemed to get her back up. Most people would have stopped and argued about the ticket and by doing this she would have issued correctly and they wouldn't have had a leg to stand on. (as it turned it she only had one to stand on )

I find it quite incredible that even when I said "tickts not valid as it has not been issued correctly as I am about to drive off" that she went to such lengths that she has incurred personal injury. I will be throwing the book at the company and also involving the local council who they would on behalf of.

I should add that *normally* when tickets are issued they print them off and put into a waterproof bag that then sticks on the windscreen which has payment instructions on etc. She didn't have time to put into one of these bags and tried to tuck the printed off pcn under the windscreen. Just shows how desperate she was to issue the ticket!

chop, do these wardens have to issue a certain amount every month, ie set targets?

well done you though for flawing her serious "dogsbody" attitude.

The police can, so that includes PCSOs and Police Traffic Wardens. The officer only needs to be present to witness the offence. If the car drives away they simply issue the ticket from the station via post to the registered keeper.

You have more chance to appeal a ticket that is issued in this manner, as the officer will not have been able to record your tax details. We all know registration plates are easily cloned, so without tax details it can be easier for you to prove it was not your car.

Tried to post this earlier, but the ol N95 is a bit flakey on long posts

Sorry to be the harbinger of doom chop, but..

The law was changed on 01/03.

tickets no longer have to be placed on vehicle to be deemed served. They can be issued and sent by post ( nice eh)

However the supposed upshot is that the criteria for issuing them is to be more stringent, to reduce the chance of successful appeal (they don't like motorists do they)

Also you can expect a "no win, no fee" type claim against you for the life changing, catastrophic assault you inflicted on the TW

get a good solicitor and prepare for a long fight

This will not stop a no-win no-fee lawyer. In the event of the vast majority of claims such as this it is far more cost effective for the insurance company to settle out of court rather than argue the toss and incur large amounts of legal fees.

My dad used to have something similar like that in his car..a whole pad of little notes to leave on inconsiderate parkers...

Though if he see's the way I park at the supermarket in 2 spaces, he would go through the whole pad I think

Excellent, I just bought three packs of the 'Parking too close' ones

I go to great lengths to park my brand new, shiny, un-dented car as far away from anyone else in the car park yet someone in an old sh1tter has always parked right next to it when I get back

I'd happily pay a premium fee to park in a 'I like my car just the way it is so keep your doors/trolleys/handbags to yourself please' space

Can you explain this high court judgment reported in the mail. Avoid a parking ticket - just by driving away | the Daily Mail

High court judgements set case law

My attitude generally in life has made me a lot of money. I dont waste money and if I dont have to pay something then I wont. This includes parking tickets even though the majority would stand there when they dont have to and recieve the ticket. If my car had a ticket on and issued correctly I would have paid the £30 fine and accepted it. In my situation the warden had not issued the ticket so I had no need to stay and recieve it, if she jumps in front of my car to issue then that is her fault.

Thanks for your comment

Hi Mart, the law has changed however the local council's parking enforement is run by a private company. The new law is for police parking enforcers only, private companies still work off different laws. Or so I am reliably informed.

Do you know what exactly happened to her foot? Having your foot driven over by a car sounds dramatic, but..

I had my foot driven over good and proper by the front wheel of a Chevy V8 pick-up truck and it did not even hurt at all. No pain, no damage, nothing. Someone stomping on your foot would hurt but that didn't.

Maybe I was just lucky?

I am genuinely suprised that your attitude in life has "made you a lot of money".
Based on the OP, the first trait you demonstrated was laziness - not commonly attributed to success. Able bodied people parking on double yellows is a sure sign of a sloth of the increasingly common Selfish breed.

You have also demonstrated an inability to live up to your responsibilities by trying to avoid the perfectly legitmate fine that was coming your way for parking on double yellow lines.

The lesson to be learnt from this thread isn't one of whether trying to run over a traffic warden is a good enough thread to get you oodles of SN brownie points from your motoring inept acolytes. Nor is it to see whether you have any legal recourse from your ticket. The lesson is NOT to park like a gland next time...

If you have made so much money and are such a marvellous financial success you should be able to afford a pay and display ticket and who knows, maybe even some roller boots to help you get to your desintation on foot and on time without burning too many of your prescious calories.

Like I said before this won't stop private legal action. The insurance company will not want to appoint a lawyer to go through all the ins and outs of health and safety legislation, and will just pay an out of court settlement. That's how the no-win no-fee system normally works : it relies on the fear of legal costs.

Mates a tw in Brighton for his sins and he would rather do any thing else ,the kind of **** he has to put up with is unreal and not just fro joe public but is employer ncp .
In the time hes been there tho hes managed to get them to have to accept unions (being the 1st shop steward ) - they really love him i can tell you
- i suspect its sport for him in an otherwise mind numbling dull routine
Hes also been to court at least once to testify re peeps running him over in the course of his work ...
Favourite targets are cafe owners and estate agents and of course bus-stop devotees but no theres no more pay for more tickets produced but hes 'expected' to ticket 10 a day

your not an estate agent are you Paul , Chop ?

Not illegally... mrs is disabled so we have a very helpful badge.

that said, would be looking for a parking bay or something before sticking it on a yellow line, that is last resort.
