Good choice chaps. I can highly recommend the silicone case things that Carphone Warehouse sell, you don't know they're on, they make the phone a little more manly - all black - give the phone a lot more grip and of course offer great protection. I paid less than a tenner for mine.

ZiPhone is great if you want to mess around with 3rd party apps or unlock to other networks, you have to really try to get into any real trouble, unlike a few months ago.

 

O2 gave me a opaque white silicon sleeve for my phone .

MSN would be cool on the iphone but I'm kinda stuffed on that at the mo. Once I can get it installed the need for having msn on my phone will not be there.

 

I'm hoping Adium will be released on the iPhone. That and Skype of course.

Adium would be cool, because in a single app, we get msn, aim, jabba and ichat all rolled into one
Skype may be a different matter altogether, because I dont see how it can function as a skype service when you have calling plans etc with your phone provider or am I missing something here

 

I think we'll get Skype, it was said that there would be no restriction on VOIP via wireless, edge was a no, no.

 

...and Adium does Google chat as well, that's been working really well for me.

 

I agree that Adium would be rather nice on the iPhone. As for Skype, for WiFi, I have no doubt that it'll appear, but using EDGE, forget it. Apple has explicitly stated that you're not allowed to create VOIP over EDGE apps, as that'd serious pish off AT&T as you'd not need any calling time as you'd just be using the data plan, same applies to any carrier really, though AT&T could have a legit reason to block VOIP over EDGE (one presumes they can detect the type of data being sent/received on EDGE)

 

is google chat free. I thought google talk was , but chat was a paid for service

Retro does have a certain appeal.

 

Adium have just announced that it's going to take them a long time to port to the iPhone. Bummer.

 

We do need a chat agent for the phone. Multi agent would just be the icing on the cake!
