td05 20g on a 2litre
happy days, dont think ill have anything to worry about with this one then
read a lot of posts now that the old vf22 does give problems and cant really take any abuse. If it could it would be one hell of a turbo

I spoke to my AndyF about this and the VF banjo is fine to retain so I have.
Thinking about it afterwards, I'm guessing the newage STi has a small diameter hole in the banjo, could be to keep oil pressure to the AVCS, no 100% though.
What year UK turbo do you have?
For 360hp, an 18G would be better, with mine, I'm getting 1bar at 2800rpm,
Heres an over lay of my previous VF35 and my current AFP5/6 20G both mapped by Andy Forrest.

As you can see, there not a lot of difference in power or torque apart from the 20g just keeps on going.
The car is an STi 7 Type UK.

Is that with std pump fuel? Or are you adding OB or funny juce
I thought the 20G was more of a 380bhp turbo, so your output is excellent!

Recently, there has been a lot of debate over the 'good ol 20g' turbo, but it does seem to be a solid quick 1.7 bar/380 ish turbo that drops straight into place and readily mapped to give boost a long way up the rev range.
It's cheap too as a bonus compared to the fab 321 series @ £1200.
I have driven my 20g hillclimb race/road car to death for 4 years on a stock low miles Sti V3 long block with one oil change each year (Shell Helix) and it is just great. 380 bhp is a very nice power for the chassis on most roads/conditions, very useable and very tractable.

The difference in response between the 35 and the 20G looks minimal in that graph and I would suspect it would normally be significantly wider, even with someone of Andy's mapping skills!

I had another Sti8 in today Nick with almost identical spec and fuel to you, the only difference was it was running an Sti TMIC instead of the WRC TMIC and it had an AVCR, it made 405bhp so it seems like that intercooler of yours was a good investment
Looking at the initial part of the graph, but lines are close together showing the even though the the 20G is a bigger turbo (slower spool), its makes the same power as a smaller turbo (faster spool), that what I mean by not much difference, once the 20G comes alive, it just walks away.
Thanks to JD off SIDC
Heres the graph from my 20g with similar spec.
I see your power just keeps climbing, nice
