chav car
I left my car at a mates house for the weekend and his Mrs complained that it was going to be on display on her drive. It had just been washed and polished so it wasnt exactly an eyesore. She wasnt having any of it.
"People will think Ive got friends from Blackpool staying over" was her considered response.
I pointed to her Audi TiT soft top and made some comment about her being a "wannabe WAG"

Those in glass houses..
Elmer is way too worried about exhausts.. - I haven't had one person negatively comment about my exhaust - the OE spoiler gets more negative comments...
Actually - when it was in the bodyshop the other week the oldish guy that ran it commented on how nice it sounds - and this place looks after the local Bentley and AM dealership.

theyre are actually a shrwed move on the part of subaru marketing division who accidently entered a lagacy into a rally one day - if it hadnt of happened the marque would still be bought by farmers/country folk to get around in the mud !

This thread got me thinking that maybe I have been viewing the subaru world through rose tinted specs. The only three imprezas I saw this morning were distinctly unwholesome looking.... classics with ill advised bodykits and aftermarket spoilers. Definately more than a touch of burberry about them. Perhaps the detractors have a point.

LMFAO
Exactly what I would say !!!!
"i like the exhaust sounds awesome! im guessing you dont?" WRX-DAN
Never mind that..if you like it, thats all that matters! I too have a loud exhaust, but i like it, so i'm keeping it
Modifying a car is all about doing it to your style/taste, otherwise you may as well stick to a standard car. Just follow your own tastes

From: Kent in a 396bhp Scoob/Now SOLD!
7 Years ago when I got my first scoob, they were expensive, Standard STI's were King and most UK's were standard, or STI wannabees.
7-10 years of sucessive owners have each put their tuning mark on a particular car, getting more extreme as the car comes down in value.
In 10 years time, you will find a big market for standard parts when, people want the purist look again (just like RS Fords).
Its progress and the standard process that happens to all marques when their value drops to an affordable point.
When I was 17 it was all about dropping the biggest engine you could fit into a RWD escort. People looked at us with disdain. Unfortunately today, self-spannering skills are at a decline, so quick-parts (stick-on etc) have become the best sellers.
