i err... think i did good?
Well done, Andy
Am well proud of you
You should be very proud of yourself, too. Lots of people would not have even bothered. Sad state of affairs, but that is life.
You need a good pat on the back and a very stiff drink.

Well done Andy.... the boy done good!!
I've not read every post, but i used to be in the fire service, i dreaded coming upon a scene such as that, i had training, however thankfully i never had to deal with anything that serious, there was always someone more willing with me....!!
I hope you had a productive day...!!

It's amazing how many people just drive on by - you stopping, and the actions you took may have helped to save this guys life - what a star
Top job.
Other people would freeze in situations like this.
Having had to do CPR myself on someone (who sadly died
), the reality of it all doesn't seem to hit you after its all over. Then you constantly question yourself if you did right or not etc. But that doesn't matter, you did what you could, and it helped and thats all that matters.
Just hope he pulls through.

I really do hope the guy's okay.....
I'm dying to get the Fawlty Towers and Bad Taste jokes out.....
(being serious... I hope things work out well for the guy, and he does make a full recovery)

having dropped the mrs off at work and spending £56 on this weeks v-power addiction, i picked up the scun.thorpe telegraph.
wasnt much in there about the accident, only a few words, but it did say and i quote...
"his condition isnt thought to be life threatening"
thats good news i suppose.
i didnt sleep much last night, but slight piece of mind now. anyone would think he was my brother or something the way im rattling on.

Papers never have much on important things anyway. Bet there were some cracking double glazing ads in there though!

And no you dont sound like you're rattling on either. You stopped because you cared enough to help, which is why its only natural to wonder how they got on.
Im exactly the same, rarely hear another thing about it, but nice when you hear something to say the effort was worth it.
Not sleeping much is pretty natural too, thats why I said about taking some time for yourself. Takes its toll helping with something like that, and thinking it through over and over and over is to be expected.
Well done again mate, and I hope you manage to shake the thought soon

Well done doesn't really say enough when you think about what you have done, the guy would probably be dead now if you hadn't helped him. Takes guts to do what you did when not trained to deal with such gory scenes. You are in deed a hero for saving someones life which in turn has prevented that persons family from being devastated.
Andy, have you ever thought about training to be a paramedic? Seriously the way you acted shows that you have a natural ability to remain calm and act instinctively in an emergency. You obviously are a caring and thoughtful person too
I know of someone who gave up her job to re-train as a paramedic in Sheffield and has absolutely no regrets.

You have indeed done good and you deserve to be very, very proud of yourself. I felt warm reading this thread cos it clearly says that not everyone out there is a ****!
It would seem that you may well have saved a person's life and that is something that will live you forever.
I wonder if 'Al' realised how lucky he really is?
Nice one!!

Good lad and well done!!!
I've had lots of experience with death and destruction in combat(Iraq and Afghanistan) roles and i know what you are feeling. My advice is to discuss your experience with as many people as possible, because the more you talk about stuff, the easier it is for your mind to process it. It relieves the possible development of Post Traumatic Stress.
Once again, well done.

i think it was the cyclists fault to be honest. although i only got the landrover guys side, it seems he shot out across both lanes from the field/path.
